Transfer mania

Allowing insta-transfers reflects the exponential acceleration of societal desire for immediate gratification and the commensurate unwillingness to sacrifice for long-term achievement. Obtaining a meaningful education is now an old fashioned notion. As the poster below points out, a lot of our transfers in and out have degrees. But across college football, that is increasingly rare. I know most players don’t care.

But it’s sad. There was a reason working to get an education made sense, and it makes more sense now than ever. The value of higher education has never been higher, because people change jobs and even fields today more than ever. But all that is out the window for a huge chunk of players, almost none of whom will ever make the league let alone have ANY money from the league left by the time they hit 35.

Basketball WBB: Game Thread | No. 18 Notre Dame 74, No. 20 Tennessee 69

Notre Dame women's basketball will face a ranked team tonight for the second time early this season. The No. 18 Irish were waxed in the season opener to eventual-No. 1 South Carolina, 100-71, in Paris.

Now Notre Dame gets to test its mettle at No. 20 Tennessee (4-2) in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge. The Lady Vols have a one-point loss at No. 15 Florida State and a 14-point loss to No. 17 Indiana in Fort Myers, Fla., on their record this season.

Forward Rickea Jackson, who leads Tennessee in scoring (22 points and 12 rebounds per game), is not expected to play tonight.

In her absence Tennessee is led in scoring by 6-foot-2 guard/forward Sara Puckett (15.0) and and 5-10 guard Jewel Spear (13.5). The Lady Vols rank No. 4 in Division I in rebounding with 50.17 per game. They're No. 9 in offensive rebounds per game (18.5) and No. 11 in defensive rebounds per game (31.7)

How much +/- does it take to sign a ***** DT like Justin Scott?

Just wondering: how much does it take to sign a guy like Justin Scott?

He is likely a necessary piece in the whole ND CFP puzzle: DT is the position that ND struggles with recruiting wise, and Justin Scott happens to live close by.

Miami imo is not well coached and will not advance this kid's character in any way as his parents would certainly hope.

The OSU coach stated last year that his NIL budget was about $13MM, my best guess is that a talent like Scott would be looking at $1.5MM spread over 4 years. Anybody have data?
