I'm a fan of Golden's x's and o's generally, but I've never been a fan of his personnel management on defense. I won't have to harp on Marist starting at Will ahead of Kiser anymore, but it seems he and his coaches on defense (maybe minus Mickens) can't decide on various player's best position and as a result, these poor guys are constantly moving and having to transform their bodies. Ford is a perfect example. The guy came in highly regarded and looked to be a vyper or big end, then they had him gain weight and move inside so he puts on lots of weight, then he doesn't get any time there and they move him back?? It looks like they are doing the same thing with Vernon, another highly regarded player coming out of HS. Same for Junior, another highly sought after linebacker now trying to figure out how to be a vyper. Josh Burnham fits that mold as well. I can maybe understand moving him to vyper, but now they have him gaining weight again to play big end. If they start Sneed at Will, it will be another guy playing out of position.

Notre Dame men's basketball (7-12, 2-6 ACC) looks to snap its three-game losing streak on Saturday when it hosts Boston College (11-8, 2-6 ACC).

The Eagles defeated the Irish 63-59 earlier this month. In that contest, Boston College outscored ND by 11 points in the second half to come from behind and capture the victory. In that game, Boston College scored 22 points off turnovers in comparison to Notre Dame's three.

Freshman point guard Markus Burton, who averages a team-high 16.3 points per game, scored 19 points in the first game between these programs but also committed seven turnovers. Burton was joined by J.R. Konieczny and Braeden Shrewsberry as players to score in double figures in Wednesday's loss vs. Miami. As a team, ND is shooting 40% from the field, 30% from the 3-point line and 71% from the the free-throw line.

ND is holding its opponents to 65.5 points per game, which is nearly 13 points less than Boston College's team average of 77 points per contest. Notre Dame's frontcourt of Kebba Njie and Carey Booth will have their hands full with Eagles leading scorer Quinten Post, who stands 7-foot, 235-pounds and averages a team-high 16.9 points per game. Post went on a scoring run by himself late in the first game against the Irish which proved pivotal in the final outcome. Junior guards Claudell Harris Jr. and Jaeden Zackery and sophomore forward Devin McGlokton also average at least 10 points per game for head coach Earl Grant.

Boston College has lost four of its last five, with its only win coming against Micah Shrewsberry's squad.

I checked in this afternoon with 2025 linebacker target Christian Jones of Omaha (Neb.) Westside. He told me he plans to visit Notre Dame on April 20th for the Blue-Gold Game with the Rezac twins, 2024 LB signee Teddy Rezac and 2024 QB PWO Anthony Rezac.

Trent Miles, a Notre Dame wide receivers coach from 2002-04, is expected to join Notre Dame's staff as an analyst, a source confirmed with Inside ND Sports. FootballScoop first reported the news. Miles spent the last two seasons as a senior analyst at LSU.

Miles, a former head coach at Indiana State (2008-12) and Georgia State (2008-12), has worked with Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock at several stops. They worked under head coach Tyrone Willingham at Stanford in 2001 and then followed him to Notre Dame and Washington. Miles and Denbrock also worked together at Indiana State and LSU.

Miles also has ties to Notre Dame safeties coach Chris O'Leary, who played for Miles at Indiana State. Miles hired O'Leary for his first job as a graduate assistant at Georgia State.

Notre Dame extended an offer to 2025 wide receiver Michael Terry on Tuesday. Safeties coach Chris O'Leary was recruiting in Texas today.

Per Rivals, Terry is a four-star recruit. He is ranked as the No. 18 wide receiver and No. 102 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

Terry attends San Antonio Alamo Heights and reports 16 total offers including Baylor, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Texas and Texas Tech. He measures in at 6-foot-3, 216-pounds.

This is the first offer Notre Dame 2025 QB commit Deuce Knight has reported since he committed to the Irish last September.

Alabama offered Knight last summer under former head coach Nick Saban and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees.

Kalen DeBoer has now offered Knight after visiting Lucedale (Miss.) George County on Monday. DeBoer also offered USC five-star 2025 quarterback commit Julian Lewis on Monday.

Knight, the No. 1 dual threat quarterback in the 2025 class, has visited campus six times in his recruitment including this past weekend for junior day.

He’s been arguably the most vocal leader and builder of the class on social media, including a post on X/Twitter Monday about 2025 four-star LB target Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng potentially leaning toward ND after his visit.

Notre Dame LB Kyngston Viliamu-Asa makes the list from the national analyst crew.

Notre Dame has identified a new linebacker target in the 2025 class. Antoine Deslauriers, a Canadian from Quebec, reported a Notre Dame offer Thursday. He played his junior season, his first in the U.S., at Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nacoochee School. His offer list includes the likes of Miami, Florida State, Texas A&M, Auburn and Duke.

I am curious as to how much men's lacrosse info you'd like to see from us. Last year, we jumped on the bandwagon in midseason and we got a lot of page views and good feedback. So what's your interest level in February and March beyond curiosity about Tyler Buchner's and Jordan Faison's roles?

Interesting snapshot, as these were before winter workouts begun, so the comparisons will be interesting. Most players had dropped a few pounds during the season, per usual. There were some notable changes among the returnees:

Safety Luke Talich, a 6-4 walk-on, who likely will earn a scholarship is up to 210 from 198. That's his ideal weight range.
CB Micah Bell is up to 180 from 5-10, 173.
DT/DE Brenan Vernon is 6-5, 274, up from 259.
WR Jordan Greathouse is 6-1, 209, up from 204.
LB Drayk Bowen is 6-2, 244 up from 234.
TE Cooper Flanagan is 6-6, 240, down from 262.
NG Howard Cross III is 6-1, 277, down from 288.
LB/DE Kahanu Kia reported back from his Mormon Mission at 6-2, 219. Heard he was more than than weightwise, so that may have been an estimate.
