  • Lose to Clemson by 2 TDs in the ACCCG and Win in the Semis, Lose Finals

Obviously our preferences is win both and I’d assume that if we lost the ACCCG and won a natty we’d be good so if this was how our season were to end what is your preference.

No news from the Notre Dame football front continues to be good news as the Irish prepare for the ACC Championship meeting versus Clemson on Saturday, December 19.

No. 15 ND Hockey Splits Weekend Series With Ohio State In 3-2 Loss

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — In the weekend finale inside Compton Family Ice Arena, No. 15 Notre Dame (4-4-0, 3-3-0-0-0-0 B1G) fell to No. 14 Ohio State (3-5-0, 3-5-0-0-1-0 B1G), 3-2, in a hard-fought battle on Sunday night.

Alex Steeves and Nate Clurman buried goals for Notre Dame, while Graham Slaggert, Nick Leivermann, Grant Silianoff, and Jesse Lansdell collected assists.

Dylan St. Cyr stopped 18 shots for the Irish while Tommy Nappier made 17 saves to earn the victory in goal for the Buckeyes.

The Irish controlled the play in the early going and were rewarded with the game’s opening goal 7:08 into the opening frame. Alex Steeves deflected a Leivermann shot past the glove of Nappier for his third goal in as many games. Graham Slaggert also earned an assist on the play.

Notre Dame held a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal in the first period and took the one-goal lead into the first intermission.

Clurman added to the Irish tally to make it 2-0 in favor of Notre Dame when he corralled a loose puck in the slot and beat Nappier blocker-side at the 13:48 mark of the second. Grant Silianoff earned the other assist on the play.

The Buckeyes halved the deficit with a power-play goal by Mark Cheremeta with just 27 seconds left in the middle frame.

Just four minutes into the third period, Charlie Raith found the back of the net, but, after a lengthy review, Raith’s goal was ultimately waived off because of a hitting-from-behind major called on Ryder Rolston that occured before the goal.

Ohio State would capitalize on the ensuing five-minute power play, with Quinn Preston earning the game-tying and game-winning goals.

The Irish pulled St. Cyr for an extra attacker in the closing moments, but were unable to net the equalizer despite a number of high-quality chances.

The Fighting Irish close the first half of their 2020-21 schedule with a home series against Michigan State next Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 19-20). Saturday’s contest will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN and Sunday’s game is set for 5 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Chicago/Philadelphia.

Who on Here Believes ND Can Beat Clem or Make the Playoffs W/This Offense

The blame isn't all on Book. I blame Book, Rees and Kelly. He can sugarcoat this all he wants, but ND doesn't need Book to be elite they need him to be aggressive with his decision making. This offense is holding ND back and I don't know how you can spin it. Rees and Kelly aren't holding Book accountable. If Book can't push the ball downfield.....find someone that can or hurry and develop someone that can. ND has an elite D and its unfortunate the offense is holding this team back..

This offense is so plain and predictable that they are just out talent(ing) other teams.

What the talking heads said about ND Clemson that made me smile.

While I was watching the NC vs Miami game or the Florida LSU game--Im not sure witch one. One of the announcers said that Clemson was not only missing players before the game with ND started but they had alot of players get hurt during the game which also hurt their cause.

*** I thought to myself "No Sh|t--many Clemson players were being helped off the field because the Notre Dame players were kicking their a$$'s into the ground all game !!!
