Recruiting Khari Gee

Hey folks just wrapped up the live show with Patrick. Appreciate everyone who tuned in; it was a great show.

I can confirm that Notre Dame is one of several schools in contact with the LSU commitment. It's trending that he is not going to sign with the Tigers.

Teammate of 2022 RB Damari Alston, a Notre Dame target. I went to see both of these guys play early in September. Gee is a very good player.

I'll keep you guys posted. What a crazy recruiting cycle.

Ignore Dabo’s Rhetoric

He is arguing the way he is, to lul, to sleep, the college kids from ND to sleep. Dabo and Clemson speak and now these kids are suppose to listen? It’s an attempted mine f*ck. Before Dabo no one did this. Love it. But it needs to fail. Good night gents and ladies. Time to put the foot down and it’s up to these kiddos to dominate. They will do it. THOTTLE DOWN! Mindset wins (but calmness-bottomed of the ninth deep breath calmness-wins)

Jack Swarbrick Recipient Of NFF John L. Toner Award

IRVING, Texas (Dec. 17, 2020) - The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame announced today Jack Swarbrick, the University of Notre Dame Vice President and James E. Rohr Director of Athletics, as the 2020 recipient of the NFF John L. Toner Award.

“Jack Swarbrick has established himself as one of the top athletics administrators in the country today with a relentless commitment to excellence and ensuring the student-athletes at Notre Dame have an educational experience that is second to none,” said NFF Chairman Archie Manning. “Under his leadership, the traditions at Notre Dame have thrived, and he has brought a strategic focus, which has allowed the Fighting Irish to remain a powerhouse in every aspect of the college experience for the school’s student-athletes in South Bend.

“Jack Swarbrick’s exceptional leadership abilities have never been more evident than during the pandemic, and he has been one of the leaders who has worked tirelessly to provide the student-athletes in South Bend and nationwide an opportunity to play this season while ensuring their health and safety.”

Presented annually by the NFF since 1997, the John L. Toner Award recognizes athletics directors who have demonstrated superior administrative abilities and shown outstanding dedication to college athletics and particularly college football. The award is named in honor of its inaugural recipient, the late John L. Toner who was a former athletics director and football coach at Connecticut. Toner, an NCAA President from 1983-85, joined the NFF Board in 1988 and served as the vice chairman from 2000-2008.

"It is a great honor for me and Notre Dame Athletics to be recognized with the National Football Foundation's John L. Toner Award,” said Swarbrick. “I am humbled to be added to such a distinguished list of prior recipients, including many athletic directors who I have counted among my mentors and close friends over the years. I especially appreciate that this year's award recognizes the hard work that our staff at Notre Dame put in to ensure that our student-athletes had the opportunity to pursue their athletic dreams during a year in which so many thought that would not be possible."

A magna cum laude graduate from Notre Dame in 1976, Swarbrick earned his law degree from Stanford in 1980 and practiced law for the next 28 years before becoming the head of the athletics department in South Bend in 2008. His tenure has seen a major $400 million renovation of Notre Dame Stadium; the hosting of major events on campus to generate revenue for the school and community; the construction of the $50 million Compton Family Ice Arena; an extension of the university’s relationship with NBC Sports through the 2025 football season; a partnership with student-athletes to advance social justice issues on campus and nationally; and a long-list of additional accomplishments that have touched every aspect of the student-athlete experience at Notre Dame.

OT: CFP Committee. It's broken we need to stop.

I'm labeling this OT because it has nothing to do with ND's position, but the entire idea of the playoff committee isn't working and it's stupid. Nicole Auerbach asking the committee chair "do the games actually matter" was perfect today. The idea that they're going to find the best 4 teams is a stupid goal, because it just leads to thinking about who you think is great based on the roster and then reverse engineering how to get them in. The games are becoming worthless and that's really bad.

We need to stop being so hung up on making sure that the objective best team wins the championship. That really only works in professional sports where you can have long playoffs with series to play. Does anyone complain at the end of the NCAA tournament that the team that won may not be the best team? Same with the super bowl.

Expand playoffs, go to a BCS formula, I don't know, but this can't continue. The rankings of Clemson (if we're being honest, who hasn't really beaten anyone), Florida, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Georgia, Oklahoma, USC, Coastal Carolina, just can't all be reconciled except with just constantly yelling eye test and coming up with weird stats to indicate how badly teams that you want to move up beat up also rans. It's all just dumb.

OT - Prayer Request

Just heard that my asst wrestling coach at ND, Ricky Stewart. Was in his house in Texas when an explosion happened. He was thrown out to the front yard. He’s in critical condition at the ICU burn unit in Parkland Texas.

Apparently he went back in to rescue his dog and Harley. Then collapsed. He was a great friend and coach to me. Please keep him in your prayers.

A tip of the hat to....

The writers, mods, recruiting gurus that help make Blue And Gold what it is.

Lou with the bear trap of a mind on all things ND. The history lessons are awesome!

Singer with anything and everything related to recruiting. The good and the bad. Solid articles, lucky charms, and humor.

Starkey with infinite insight on weather reports, 3 techs, and “he will, unless he doesn’t”.

Patrick with the basketball updates and blunt opinions of playoff rankings, game day / game time decisions and info from the box!

Goolsby adding commentary after games with Q&A. Excellent!

New guy Mason, making a name for yourself with some great srticles

You guys have taken an extremely stressful week with the Clark Lea news, (early) National signing day, Clemson on the horizon, and Playoff talk - And made it look easy.

On top of that, you guys put up with the good posters, and Joe Montana with a finesse that I don’t think could be rivaled.

Thank you for your hard work guys, it makes coming to this site / message board an easy way to gather up and soak in as much information as the sponge can handle.

OT: Music post

One of my buddy's has a 6 song EP out, produced on a low budget and recorded over 3 nights, so this isn't Steve Vai or anything, but would appreciate if all you music fans at least listen to this tune and if you like it, give it a LIKE on You Tube. Appreciate it. Also, for those who think it's garbage, don't hesitate to state so. I am kinda blaise about it, but I want to try and support him and get some ears on his stuff. OK, have at it guys!!
