Basketball WBB: Former Pittsburgh forward Liatu King signs with Notre Dame

Notre Dame women's basketball just announced that former Pittsburgh forward Liatu King has signed with Notre Dame as a graduate transfer.

The Irish just landed a verbal commitment from Marquette's Liza Karlen yesterday. Both were all-conference players in their respective league's last season.

@Eric Hansen will have a story on King's addition in moments.

Recruiting New 2026 S offer in South Carolina

J'Zavien Currence, a 2026 safety recruit at Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe, reported a Notre Dame offer today.

Currence has more than 30 offers and has been all over the SEC for visits with Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Florida among them. He totaled 67 tackles, five interceptions, 12 pass breakups and 5.0 tackles for loss as a sophomore last season.

Former Notre Dame defensive backs Jeff Burris and Nick McCloud also came from Rock Hill.

Basketball WBB: Liatu King/Liza Karlen/recruiting discussion

The ACC's Most Improved Player is visiting Notre Dame today/tonight as a potential grad transfer. Liatu King, a 6-foot forward, would be a great fit for an Irish team with Final Four potential next season ... and a great fit academically. She's a two-time ACC All-Academic Team selection (but not this season). She averaged a double-double (18.7 points, 10.3 rebounds) as well as 1.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.5 blocked shots -- all career highs. She averaged 35.5 minutes a game, shot .523 from the field and .711 from the free-throw line. She has never attempted a 3-point shot in college. From Washington D.C., and attended Bishop McNamara. She was named All-ACC first team this season.

(Mod edit by @Tyler James: Enjoying how long this thread has stayed active, but it bugged my that the title said King was visiting "today," so I've changed the title.)

BAS: Notre Dame wins ACC series with Pitt with 8-6 victory on Sunday

Estevan Moreno helped Notre Dame to an early 8-0 lead with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored, and the host Irish held on to win the rubber game of their three-game ACC baseball series with Pitt on Sunday, 8-6, at Eck Stadium.

David Glancy followed a four-hit game Saturday with two more hits in three at-bats Sunday and two runs scored for the Irish (25-21, 9-18 ACC). Notre Dame has won 10 of its last 13 games.

Conor Hincks and Brady Gumpf had two RBIs apiece. Hincks had two hits, while Gumpf had a double. Rory Fox (2-1) started, went five innings and got the win.

Nate Hardman pitched a hitless/scoreless ninth inning, with two strikeouts, in picking up his fifth save of the season. Pitt falls to 19-24 overall and 6-18 in ACC play.

Notre Dame has final exams in the classroom this week and then steps out of ACC play this weekend to host Toledo (23-25) for a three-game series, beginning Friday night.

Report: €180m impact on Irish economy generated by Notre Dame-Navy game

When Dublin, Ireland hosted Notre Dame and Navy for the Aer Lingus College Football Classic last year, the Irish economy received a sizeable boost. Roughly €180 million to be exact, as reported by the Post-Game Economic Impact Report by Grant Thornton.

BAS: Notre Dame moves out of last place in ACC Atlantic with a 15-8 rout of Pitt

David Glancy doubled three times and homered in six at-bats, drove in five runs and scored four to lead Notre Dame to a 15-8 romp over visiting Pittsburgh, Sunday in ACC baseball action at Eck Stadium.

In the process, the Irish (24-21, 8-18) vacated last place in the ACC’s Atlantic Division and would be the 12th seed in the 12-team ACC Tournament, May 21-26, if the season ended today. Notre Dame has four more league games left, including the rubber game of the three-game Pitt series that concludes Sunday with a 2 p.m. (EDT) start time.

The two ACC teams with the worst records do not make the league tournament field. Pitt (19-23, 6-17) remains one of those after the Irish scored a season high in runs in league play and missed matching their overall season best by a run.

Glancy’s home run, his team-leading 13th, came in the sixth inning. Second baseman Estevan Moreno hit a three-run shot in the first, his 12th, and pinch-hitter Nick DeMarco got his first of the season in the eighth.

DeMarco, Connor Hincks and Simon Baumgardt each drove in two runs for Notre Dame. Tobey McDonough (3-2) got the win in relief, giving up two unearned runs in his two innings of work.

BAS: Pitt wins series opener at Notre Dame

The only team with fewer ACC wins than Notre Dame came into South Bend on Friday and beat the Irish in the first of a three-game series at Frank Eck Stadium.

Pittsburgh starter Ryan Andrade picked up his first victory of the season by pitching into the eighth inning of a 3-1 victory over the Irish (23-21, 7-18 ACC).

Andrade (1-4) pitched seven scoreless innings before allowing an RBI single to designated hitter Brady Grumpf in the bottom of the eighth. Pitt (19-23, 6-16) pulled Andrade, who struck out seven batters and walked two of them, for Phil Fox after a sacrifice bunt moved ND runners to second and third. Fox escaped with no further damage done by striking out center fielder TJ Williams, who made a spectacular catch in the third inning, and forcing left fielder David Glancy into a fly out.

Notre Dame third baseman Simon Baumgardt came to the plate representing the tying run in the bottom of the ninth following a single by first baseman Connor Hincks. But a fly ball to center field ended the rally attempt.

Irish starter Matt Bedford (2-6) allowed three runs, six hits and four walks with five strikeouts in five innings of work. Reliever Ricky Reeth gave the Irish four scoreless innings to stay within striking distance.

Pitt plated its first run in the third inning with an RBI single by Josh Spiegel. Luke Cantwell doubled in the fourth to score two more runs.

Jack Radel (4-2, 3.86 ERA) is expected to take the mound as Notre Dame's starter in Saturday's matchup (4 p.m. on ACC Network) against Jack Sokol (5-2, 4.78).

BOX SCORE: Pittsburgh 3, Notre Dame 1
