I long for the day of Ian Book

That alone exemplifies why ND is not a top tier caliber FB team. The QB play has been very pedestrian for a long time now.

Book at least found a way to keep ND in most games or eek them out, but the lot since has been wholly forgettable. Not personal, I like Book, great young man but when he’s the bar for QB play at ND that’s not good.

I said it was a mistake not starting/sticking with Angelli after he played so well in the bowl game, and then see how the two young guys look at years end. But everyone wanted a portal QB and we got LR who is spectacularly inaccurate but he’s 6’5 and a “good athlete”.

Thoughts on Northern Illinois line

The good news is that ND is the much better team (at least according to the best data available on both of these programs right now). And with 2 full quarters to go we can still see massive point swings in favor of the Irish. As long as there's game clock there's a chance for the skill to eventually fizzle to the top. But these games are tiny sample sizes so even 4 quarters sometimes isnt enough.
To add to this post: if ND goes on to score 20 unanswered points to finish the game, and wins by double digits, nobody will care about how mediocre the product looked during the first 2.5 quarters

ND vs Nothern Illinois game thread

So much for undefeated and hosting a home playoff game. This loss today knocks us out. Season over in week 2, what a shame

Down 6 at halftime. Hardly game over, even if we look terrible. We should win, but some major areas of concern.

It almost feels like BK is back coaching ND.
