Game moved to Thursday Night

Dear Talentless Mr Ripley,

Your contempt for those of us that have honorably served this nation is appalling. Yes, you are free to speak your opinion (most of it is baseless and delusional) and that is due to our military that you have that very right. Based on your rhetoric, maybe you would feel more at home commenting on another site than a college football forum.

There is no need for you to respond, because you have nothing of importance to say that would remotely garner my attention moving forward.
I don't have this stain for the military as I've already said. You guys were just Pawns in a bigger game. However let's stop with the big reverence for the military veterans. You guys chose to sign up because you needed a job. You got paid. You got all sorts of other benefits. You're no different than a fireman. So sick of people saying thank you for your service when the person voluntarily decided they wanted to shoot other people

I’m pessimistic about the game today

Georgia will be more than ready. ND usually gets everyone’s best shot. Today will be no different. ND will also show up and be ready to go. Freeman and the staff know what’s at stake. I’m going with law of averages. It’s time to exercise some demons. “What tho thee odds “. Go Irish !!
Georgia also gets everyone’s best shot.

That’s 100 % targeting

My GUESS is that the non-decision was made because they didn’t want that call to influence the outcome of the game, when that’s exactly what happened by them not making the call
This is was one of the most absurd pseudo-logical bits of tripe I've ever heard, even from a blatant troll, who live off of being deliberately argumentative, and the more stupid and insulting and nonsensical the better. But you did say you were guessing.

Letting players get away with a penalty that obvious, is essentially like saying, whenever it suits us, and for our convenience, we're going to suspend our duties as referees, and for brief periods of the game when we as refs impulsively and capriciously decide, there will be anarchy on the football field, and we just won't make calls. It's open season. And then, later, like the very next play quite possibly, we will enforce the rules, just because that's the mood we were in in that moment, and it is our job of course. And as refs we are almost like slaves to this wayward impulse, and it's just going to happen whenever it happens.

But it's all for the good of the sport because we don't want to affect the outcome of the game even though our only purpose for existing is to the affect the outcome of the game. And there will be random moments when we decide to renounce and abandon those duties, under the ethical guise of, again, the good of the sport. Whenever we suddenly decide. And Texas wins....

Wow 4 PM ET kickoff tomorrow

I think going forward the first two rounds should be played on college campuses. This has nothing to do with what happened on Bourbon Street. But this traveling for fans isn't cheap. The semifinals could then be two of the major bowl games (Rose, Orange) and then the national championship. The following year just rotate the semifinal bowl games (Sugar, Cotton).

Football Graduation Rates of the remaining teams in the playoff

Go see what jobs (other than pro football) the football graduates land vs the regular graduates. That is the best way to judge the value of a degree.
Education is the key to a better job and a better life, especially today.

And if you don’t have a college degree, you’re at a real disadvantage in the job market and in life

Jim Harbaugh

So if a player cheats to help his team, the team shouldn't be punished? The player should be punished not the team.

That is your reasoning? No that’s your convoluted reasoning.

If it isn't proven that the coaches knew of the cheating, the team should be allowed to benefit from the cheating? Unfortunately, yes., you can’t punish the coaches if they didn’t know
Whereas with Michigan, the coaches were cheating
You are an idiot. That could be, but I’m a hell of a lot smarter than you

Also, Florida State and ND did not have the same record. Florida State played more ranked opponents. And ND's loss was worse. They had identical records., and Notre Dame beat Florida State head-to-head

Football ***GAME THREAD: Notre Dame 23, Georgia 10 (Final in Sugar Bowl CFP Quarterfinal)***

We're three hours from a postponed kickoff of the Sugar Bowl quarterfinal for the College Football Playoff, and I'm perched in the press box atop the Caesars Superdome, so let's get the game thread rolling for Notre Dame-Georgia.

We will use this game thread as the primary home for game commentary from now until after the game. We have some rules we'll ask you to follow, which will be included below.

If you're not following the rules and do not respond well to reminders, we'll remove you're posting privileges for the rest of the day. We have too much to do today to argue about it during the game. This doesn't happen often as we're pretty lenient in the game thread, but please keep that in mind.

@HotCarNut has disciplinary powers as a moderator. You can argue with him about the game, but do not argue with him about the rules.

Our game thread rules:

1. Use this thread until the end of the game for ongoing game commentary. We'd like to keep the conversation in one place. If something from the game merits a separate conversation of substance, go ahead and start another thread for that topic. When in doubt, post in the game thread.

2. Criticism of decision-making by coaches and players is allowed. But please avoid making it personal. Don't be malicious. Remember, that person's mother could be reading your post. If you cross the line, you'll lose posting privileges for the day.

3. Don't be a doofus. Have some respect for your fellow subscribers.

That’s 100 % targeting

It's just that it was such a critical juncture of the game, it was so blatantly targeting, practically knocked the guy out, they had unlimited time to review with the game paused while the player attempted to recover from this blatant head shot he just took. And the refs very quickly said No Targeting, Texas wins, or we hope they do.

So I guess maybe they should have called it on ASU too if they were guilty of it in some other instance. But it's almost as if the football gods were like, waiting for the refs to call it, no possible excuse, almost daring the refs not to call this super blatant targeting call and do their jobs as officials even though it's a critical juncture of the game and it very well may lead to ASU finishing off a great comeback and knocking Texas out. And the refs were like, F U god, we're not calling it, what are you going to do about it? That's right, bitch, we're not calling it, and Texas wins, at least if we have anything to say about it. That's how egregious it was.

I’m pessimistic about the game today

This is a bad take. Notre Dame is 12-1 in Freeman’s third year, they have recruited well and have a really good record against ranked teams.

No one recruits better than Georgia and if not for Nick Saban and there not being a 12 team playoff last year, they probably have 3 straight national championships.

We have a ton of injuries and Stockton was a top 100 recruit. Losing this game does nothing to change the trajectory of the program, which is pointing way up.
👍👍👍

I’m pessimistic about the game today

I feel you brother. I thought Ohio State last year would finally be the moment we beat a big dog.

In the past I had expectations we would win against Bama (2012) and Clemson (2018). I was actually so confident we would beat Clemson in 2018 that I was depressed for an entire week after that game. I thought it was so pathetic that I let a football game, that I wasn’t even playing in, effect me for such a long time. Since then, I’ve gotten rid of all my expectations and I’m no longer disappointed after a loss.

Enjoy the game for what it is, entertainment. Don’t go in expecting a win or a loss, just try to be grateful we get to watch another game of our beloved Irish and enjoy all the emotions it will bring out, good and bad.

Go Irish!
“Entertainment” ?

This is far more important than just entertainment, this is about a return to glory

“Entertainment” ? Are you related to Allen Iverson?

My boss is a massive die-hard Georgia fan. There's some uncertainly on their side as well. Backup QB starting his first game. He's concerned that Notre Dame could attack them like Georgia Tech did on the ground, as he basically said the only game Georgia was good against the run was vs Texas.

I'm concerned about Leonard panicking and pulling the ball down.
