A ton of money for ESPN if the SEC wins.....not so much for ND, Boise or othersThat's the big conspiracy theory CFB fans are currently muling on. The evil marriage between ESPN and the SEC, and all the corrupt dealings that might come of it. Shit like this does happen. They had huge match fixing scandals in European soccer, with top, prestigious clubs incriminated and convicted. I don't even know how you throw a soccer game. I guess award constant penalty kicks.
Anyway, my spidey sense was just going off. Something didn't feel right. Too many in a row, too dubious that they were actual penalties, and every one pretty distinctively helpful to the cause for UGA. But UGA couldn't capitalize, because they sucked, and we rocked 'em!
Who fvcking cares what the talking heads, and you think? This team has emphatically proven they are one of the four best teams. When you finish regular seasons undefeated and make 2 or 4 team playoffs on three separate occasions you are more than good. All 3 seasons were damn good accomplishments.
I’m not certain Notre Dame gets in a 4 team playoff this season.
We deserved a few, but 2 of the PI's were BS. The missed Facemask. Multiple holds on our pass rushers. The Faison moving. The missed PI on them on that 3rd and 7. We might have got away with one on the 4th down fake punt. I dont think it evened out and it did keep GA on / off the field too many times.Because there was a string of calls there, when the game was still very much in doubt and UGA could really use a favorable call, where it was just like, is this for real? Like three or four in a row, that straight up did not look like penalties, all negating very much positive developments for ND. I am not a conspiracy theorist, and I have to fight the inclination to condescend to people who talk like that, but holy shit! Even the first down by Faison when it was pretty much done with under four minutes. But out comes the flag again! This time for some sort of obscure illegal shift, and now it's 4th down.
I got this on the brain on account of yesterday's targeting non call was just so unbelievable. Anyway, it was noteworthy to me and super noticeable.
100% targeting. I hate the sitting out a half BS. I have watched a ton of FB this year and I have seen a lot of ticky tack BS targeting calls that were no where close to that play.Ask him if he thinks it was targeting, in the ASU game? Then we'll know just how deferential we need to be.
Thanks for the clarification! Kirby crying saying SEC officials said it was illegal.....well no shit! Screw the SECYou can sub all 11 players before the ball is put in play -- the ball is determined to be "put in play" when the center puts his hands on the ball. If you watch the replay, the long snapper never puts his hands on the ball -- thus, the ball has not been "put in play". That was the key to that play.
When you finish regular seasons undefeated and make 2 or 4 team playoffs on three separate occasions you are more than good. All 3 seasons were damn good accomplishments. And he pissed the bed in all of those chances. ND might’ve been “good “ under Kelly, but they were never great. That’s his fault based on the current evidence
So true. So true. Good post Skibro! We don’t get every big recruit we go after and Freeling, a highly prized tackle was one of our recruiting losses that stung a couple years ago. ND, known for our offensive line, got some other players who did not seem to be as good. But we continue to pick the right guys for our program.
Guys that develop into elite talent and fit our culture. Freeling got totally exposed last nite. Embarrassed on an island for all to see by Oben, Sneed, Ausberry. Hinesh, cross, Rubio and Junior T
Sometimes I think fate still is under rated
Brian Kelly never played in a 12 game playoff at Notre Dame. His three Playoff appearances, all undefeated regular seasons, were a Final in 2012, and semi finals in 2018 and 2020.
BK made it to the championship game once, and the semifinals twice, so MF has a lot of catching up to do, he hasn't shattered anything.
After BK handed him, nay gifted him, an already annually playoff contending program, with which MF took the obligatory couple steps back first before returning us to where we already were before.
It's the Thursday night and Book v. Leonard thread. You know what the questions are.Can you repeat the question, please? And you should heed my words about ND's future, or really CFB's future. Revenue sharing starts next year, and a super league is not far behind. The writing is scrawled all over the wall, sir. But you ain't listening, you never do....
