Yes.

This Georgia team is living off their brand from the last several years, but by all measures they are down this year. Its an off year. Not to mention they were an offense-leaning team this year and their veteran starting QB was out vs ND. But when you have the kind of talent they have, you still win the SEC championship during a down year. lol

Georgia did have a talent advantage, but Notre Dame had the production advantage.

In the case of a potential matchup vs OSU, OSU would have both the production AND talent advantage and would have advantages in these two key areas by A LOT.

With this information we can speculate that vegas will set an aggressive opening line in favor of OSU (probably in the 7+ point range similar to the opening line vegas gave Alabama over Notre Dame back during the 2012-2013 BCS championship game)

Coach Marcus Freeman deserves whatever he was offered and accepted! He's also proven his worth. Can you even imagine Brian Kelly's teams winning that game last Thursday? Coach Freeman is the best Notre Dame coach since the early Lou days. His demeanor reminds me a lot of Ara. He knows how to get that extra bit out of his players. Win or lose the Natty this year, he's proven his worth and should be around for a very long time.

Winning a national title is the *only* win.

It takes upside. It takes having the #1 team in the country. ND is yet so close but still so far away at the same time.

The ONLY THING THAT WILL BRIDGE THE GAP IS BY RECRUITING/SIGNING/SECURING BETTER TALENT.

I don't get why this doesn't register with other fans.

Moreover, despite all of the great arrow pointing up feats in the program under Marcus Freeman, the talent level still has yet to improve in any way. ND is still in multiple talent tiers away from the top which makes their chances of beating teams like OSU who are in the tier 1 of talent (who also develop and coach the hell out of their players) *extremely* hard to beat.

Ok I admit it. I'm Mickey Mouse. I work for Disney...and have been collaborating with different ESPN employees under different handles here.

Our task has been to promote the SEC and undermine ND. We successfully ousted BK. We exploited the situation so that MF was hired, thinking it would be Charlie Weis all over again.

It backfired, those damn Georgia Dawgs! Goofy swore he had an in with them on canine affinity...and said they can chase ball like nobody else, something about F+. SEC speed my ass.

Saavy uncovered our plot. He even found out we collaborated with the ND administration. And the mob. He knew it was about the dollahs...always the f****** dollahs!

We'll be making a donation to the ND NIL fund as penance. A few Hail Marys. And we make sure to invite BK to the next ND graduation ceremony...so that he be reminded of what a 90%+ football graduation rate looks like!

Kelly getting taken to the woodshed

Brian Kelly had the ability to win at Notre Dame, and "bring them back." However, he didn't have the personality necessary to succeed fully at Notre Dame. He was all business.
On the other hand, Marcus Freeman also has the ability to win at Notre Dame, but he has something that BK will never have and that's the handle on team spirit. Attitude is big in any sport, but especially big in the game of football. Coach Freeman has brought back Notre Dame team spirit to the football program. I hope he's the long term coach of the Fighting Irish!
