UGA never really recovered after that. Their spirit was broken.
I don't understand. The numbers aren't relevant. Winning the game matters. Who says it has to be won in a certain manner ? If they win the next two games without significant passing yards will it still be a question ?Notre Dame passed for 90 yards, and frankly, I wonder the same thing watching the offense for 4 quarters.
Notre Dame passed for 90 yards, and frankly, I wonder the same thing watching the offense for 4 quarters.do we have to hear or read about "Notre Dame is going to have to take some shots down the field " ? Talking heads and many here having been claiming that for 14 games. ND hater Trevor Matich was bemoaning that again this morning. I swear many don't even watch the games. They just look at the numbers and draw conclusions. They've played the same all season. Protect the football, move the sticks and grind it out. The short passing game is effective when needed. Great defense and amazing the difference a healthy quality kicker makes.
Since Georgia did score shortly after the drop, I'll substitute the 4th down stop after interference was called on Kiser. There were was about 9:30 left on the clock when we took over at the 10 and effectively bled the clock down to 2 minutes to seal the win.In a game like this , everything is scrutinized. Both teams made critical mental mistakes. There were also some questionable penalties. With that said 4 plays really stand out. The first fumble caused by Shuler was huge. The strip fumble on the QB just before half. The kickoff for the TD and a huge drop from the Georgia WR that may have been a TD. Though they did score shortly after that. But those plays were crucial to the outcome.
Ask Todd Marinovich about those Notre Dame LB groups.Absolutely. I mean if Frank Stams was at ND now he'd be 15-20 pounds heavier and playing with his hand on the ground.
I thought they called it because Faison went in motion before Evans was fully set, or maybe I'm thinking of another play. There were a hell of a lot of penalties. That's not what they called. Moving forward would be a false start. They called illegal shift.
I honestly don't know how many guys were substituted, but I thought it was pretty ridiculous for him to complain about that because the refs allowed him to substitute and get set. They just jumped offside. What's wrong with his argument is the Wr group never left the field so the entire offense didn't rush on the field
Absolutely. I mean if Frank Stams was at ND now he'd be 15-20 pounds heavier and playing with his hand on the ground.Well stated. In that era versus that brand of football and against schedules that were insanely insanely difficult, that group takes a back seat to no one.
It’s mainly chaseball and cmck that disappear. There are a few that disappear. They know who THEY are. 🤣
Our lbs were the main reason the run game for georgia got stopped, not our interior dline. Hinish had a huge play to end the game but he was getting leaned on a bit. Our interior dline played very hard and held up though.Junior has been good all year. And had a big game today. You said he wasn't a rotational player even
Hinish....crickets
Freeman coached a great game.
I think you are upset we won 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I did not realize Oben's strip sack of Stockton was his first sack of the season. Could not have come at a better time!junior and oben made huge plays in the first half. They were against freeling who struggled.
Freeling played better in the second half and Junior/Oben didn't have much if any impact in the second.
Super happy they made those big plays!
Well stated. In that era versus that brand of football and against schedules that were insanely insanely difficult, that group takes a back seat to no one.Stams, Bolcar, Pritchett, and Stonebreaker.......This is the best group no offence to the current group
Good point about Max Bullough. We all know what a tremendous job Mike Mickens has done as a position coach, but Max Bullough has been great, too. They couldn't run like these guys and dominate laterally like they do. Now don't get me wrong those guys were outstanding. I know I played against some of them . This group currently is really special. Great to see KVA back on the field. Can't imagine how good they'll be next year. Lose Kiser but more talented guys in the pipeline. Max doing a phenomenal job with that group.
