Why is it so hard for Tyree to elude defense when he has the speed? Just seems to right at them and doesn't have the elusiveness of Kyren.

He was so highly ranked due to combine type stats… solid player but not a natural instinctive player

Tyree doesn't have a good feel for the game, as Kyren did. Tyree tends to get the ball and just go. He isn't very patient as a runner. Kyren was elite as figuring out creases to break through. Kyren also had the low center of gravity to do it. There were many times when his body looked horizontal to the ground but was still standing.

No one has the elusiveness of Kyren. He was special and you can’t expect to have someone like that every year. Let Tyree be himself
there is fast and then there is football fast

Hope he improves or they need a different KO returner.
Nothing usually happens on kickoffs these days. Tyree doesn't fumble. You bring in someone else who hasn't practiced like Chris had done for the last couple of years and you will have what happened to LSU Sunday night.

And don't forget we were losing to Wisconsin last year and couldn't do anything on offense until Chris Tyree's 97 yard kickoff return td.
That woke the Irish up !! Chris is a stud ! We still have 99% of the season left --- Chris will make plays !

Kyren was special. I don’t ever remember a back like him in all the years I watched ND. The closest was maybe Theo. He literally made people miss standing 1’ in front of him. He was a human highlight reel of breaking defenders ankles. There where several runs against OSU where Kyren would have leaked out the backside for a big run.

Tyree needs a hole and a gap, like most backs. Kyren just needed the ball. He was a nightmare to tackle.
