There is ZERO REASON TO PLAY ANGELI. He's third string next year if minchey doesn't pass him on the depth chart. If he is. Serious contender for the number two spot next year then sure give him a series or two. If not play Buchner he needs live reps
Today they mean nothing. When it moves to 12 teams anything not the playoff is totally meaningless outside of extra practices.

I'm definitely starting Buchner if he is healthy. I wouldn't mind seeing a series or two from Angeli but I hope Buchner plays well and takes every snap

Yeah ND doesn't hang banners for the Taxslayer Gator Bowl or the Chickfilet Peach Bowl. I'm glad the kids get the experience and swag but it's a glorified exhibition nothing more
It's great if he gets some pt, and plays great, but at some point people have to look at the depth chart and what's coming in and realize it's very unlikely Angeli ever starts outside of injury.
So your best players sit out and you don't think that effects the game. I see Mayer, Patterson, Foskey and possibly Adiamolola (sp) sitting out. Therefore any luster a bowl may have once had, it's gone

Wrong! There's a lot new, its called the playoffs! Yes, the better teams play in these bowls but that doesn't make them anymore important. Its playoffs or bust. The games are meaningless.

That's one heck of a lot of travel and $$$$$$ spent for a game that means nothing.

While I agree with you overall, didn’t you play in the Rose Bowl under Perles? Michigan State wasn’t playing for a national championship, but I assume you didn’t think the game was meaningless. Granted CFB was different in those days.
