way too early question...does Mike Sanford get any calls

yes........But I think he stays until hes ready to be a Head Coach.

Hello gents, I dont mean to cause any waves, as I am an IU guy. I was raised in Northern Indiana and ND was always a constant in our home and I wish the Irish to always do well. Sanford would be the kind of hire IU needs to make to get some momentum imo. Someone young and innovative. Let Sanford come kickstart the IU program and ND can have him back when he's ready for the big time. Everyone wins. : )

My guess is so long as he is Happy and he gets along with BK he stays at least another year. Also thinking with 10 Wins that Denbrock goes 1st......which was probably the plan for him all along.

How is he not Sal. He's catholic. His wife is catholic. He's raising his two children catholic. He's was influenced by ND when his dad was a coach here. He appreciates the schools that have strong academics after having already been at Stanford, Yale, etc. He has all the right DNA to really Love ND quite frankly.

Not quite sure why your first inclination that it would not be is no negative.

Cause I know a lot of Catholics who don't dream of ND? Maybe ND is he dream job but I haven't seen that quote, maybe he dreams about the NFL or his alma matter.

Sal, he still needs to sow his oats as a head coach somewhere else first and prove he has what it takes to be a great overall coach. Him as a future head coach at ND - A lot of things would have too happen and it would be a few years down the road from now.

But, the fact he came here to be an assistant and that his dad was here at one time and with his overall background. Hell yes - he could very well be a great future HC candidate for ND.

He didn't come to ND to be the QB coach. Have to believe there is some expectation that he will become the OC in the same vein as Denbrock, which suggests that Denbrock will be moving on sooner than later. I'd be very surprised if he left before having one or two years of success as the actual OC.

I don't think Sanford ever said ND was his dream school but when he was hired he did say this:

"And, quite frankly, the last reason and probably the biggest reason I'm here, it's Notre Dame. I know that sounds cliche, but to me, it's the most powerful brand in college athletics. It's to have a chance to be a part of that and have a chance to be a part of, hopefully, what our goal is, to win it all, and to work to build that. There's been some heavy lifting that's already taken place with Coach Kelly and his staff. Hopefully, I get a chance to be a part of that."
