Indiana is a good team with a good defenseGood lord, a ton of negative yardage plays.
A good team does not belong in the playoffs. There are a lot of "good teams". A good defense does not surrender 400 total yards.Indiana is a good team with a good defense
Clemson went 15-0 in 2018 and gave up over 500 yards to Alabama in the championship game. There is still time to delete this ydkbA good team does not belong in the playoffs. There are a lot of "good teams". A good defense does not surrender 400 total yards.
With 12 teams they're not all going to be "great". There's about 4-6 that you could consider in that vein IMO. The remainder are "good".A good team does not belong in the playoffs. There are a lot of "good teams". A good defense does not surrender 400 total yards.
We have a good defense and surrendered nearly 600 against USC.A good team does not belong in the playoffs. There are a lot of "good teams". A good defense does not surrender 400 total yards.
Good is not great. SC exploited the weakness of the ND defense. We have a good defense and surrendered nearly 600 against USC.
Alabama is good. Colorado is good. To make the 12 you should be more than just good. With 12 teams they're not all going to be "great". There's about 4-6 that you could consider in that vein IMO. The remainder are "good".
When healthy, this defense meets every definition of great. No team is healthy at this point in the season.Good is not great. SC exploited the weakness of the ND defense.
Sure they do. 400 yards isn't a big number. You're acting like that is a ton of yards for some weird reason. We average 40ppg. They held us to 27 points and 394 yardsA good team does not belong in the playoffs. There are a lot of "good teams". A good defense does not surrender 400 total yards.
I said "A good defense does not surrender 400 total yards". Bama does not have a really good defense. Again, I said a "really good defense" does not give up 400Sure they do. 400 yards isn't a big number. You're acting like that is a ton of yards for some weird reason. We average 40ppg. What teams with good defenses should have been in over them?
Alabama gave up 418 yards to Vanderbilt. 408 to Tennessee. 519 to Georgia. 399 to Auburn. Is that good? Is that playoff worthy?
How about Ole Miss. 421 to LSU. 492 to Arkansas YIKES. Playoff Worthy?
Miami gave up 479 to Syracuse and yards and points to a lot of teams that I don't need to look up. Playoff worthy ?
Who are these great teams that haven't given up 394 yards to a Playoff team who scored 40a game
Really stupid point here
Yes, when healthy. This version of the ND defense is not great. Fun to watch but not great. When healthy, this defense meets every definition of great. No team is healthy at this point in the season.
We have surrendered 400 yards this year. Are we not really good?I said "A good defense does not surrender 400 total yards". Bama does not have a really good defense. Again, I said a "really good defense" does not give up 400
Again, you said IU has a really good defense. I said NO they do not. I said a really good defense does not give up 400 yards. No, ND does not have a really good defense. This is due to injuries and youth. We have surrendered 400 yards this year. Are we not really good?
Ohio State has surrendered over 400 yards this year. Are they not really good?
Oregon has surrendered over 400 yards
Penn state has
Georgia has
Ole Miss has
Bama has
Who are these good defenses you speak of?
As Lou used to say...those guys have scholarship players too.Good lord, a ton of negative yardage plays.
Give it a rest. Indiana's defense is pretty damned good. It proved it all year. I don't care if their schedule was weak. So was ours, and our defense proved itself to be damned good, too, despite lots and lots of injuries.Again, you said IU has a really good defense. I said NO they do not. I said a really good defense does not give up 400 yards. No, ND does not have a really good defense. This is due to injuries and youth.
Again, I said IU does NOT have a "really good defense". A really good defense does not surrender 400 yards.
Unless two teams play each other everything is an opinion correct? I am entitled to my opinion correct? You do not have to read my post correct? You can actually block me correct?Give it a rest. Indy has 2-3 players of defense that will play on Sunday . Solid groupGood lord, a ton of negative yardage plays.
Who are the players?Indy has 2-3 players of defense that will play on Sunday . Solid group
So there are no really good defenses in college football, correct?Unless two teams play each other everything is an opinion correct? I am entitled to my opinion correct? You do not have to read my post correct? You can actually block me correct?
As long as you say no team in cfb has a really good defense then I would agreeAgain, you said IU has a really good defense. I said NO they do not. I said a really good defense does not give up 400 yards. No, ND does not have a really good defense. This is due to injuries and youth.

The defense is going to carry this ND team as far as it goes. The offense will be asked to do enough to win the game. Saying it all year, the offense is one dimensional.
Riley Leonard isn't a good passing QB, he's very average if not below average. I was at the game and we were seeing open receivers and literally saying there it is and it took RL 2-3 seconds after we said it to throw it.
Leonard is a winner. It was a great decision to bring him in.The defense is going to carry this ND team as far as it goes. The offense will be asked to do enough to win the game. Saying it all year, the offense is one dimensional.

No chance, the offense will need to step up in a big way to have a chance at a natty. We’ll go as far as RL takes us. The defense will hold its own but with all the injuries can’t do it alone against the Oregon, OH St, Texas of the world. As shown against USC, they are vulnerable and the O/passing game will need to be better. The defense is going to carry this ND team as far as it goes. I have nothing against Leonard, but the hype around him as a dual threat 1st round talent was way overhyped. He's been serviceable and helped the offense score enough to win games, but the defense has been carrying this team all year.Leonard is a winner. It was a great decision to bring him in.
You are hung up on the 1st round talent comment by Golson.I have nothing against Leonard, but the hype around him as a dual threat 1st round talent was way overhyped. He's been serviceable and helped the offense score enough to win games, but the defense has been carrying this team all year.
It feels like some won’t be satisfied with him until he ends up in the NFL hall of fame. You are hung up on the 1st round talent comment by Golson.
He isn't a complete QB but his ability to run is a nightmare for defenses.
To call him serviceable is a joke. He is a winner.
