Was Paul Johnson Really Considered As ND Head Coach?

I have seen some posts where Paul Johnson was a candidate to be ND Head Coach when Kelly came here? Is this true? was he really a finalist to be a head coach at ND?

Perhaps there may have been a couple of comments suggesting Paul Johnson as a candidate, but, in reality, PJs offense would never fly at ND. He's good for GT and the type of athlete he is able to recruit. ND had a good game plan. It was a total team effort (coaches, SWAG team, players, scouts).
