Belichick Interviews for UNC Head Coach

There's more than one way to be a good recruiter. I think its possible that he has some Saban-like appeal where he can attract top talent based on his reputation/cache alone.

You get a pass for being a hard-ass disciplinarian militant style coach when you have multiple super bowl and/or national title rings.
Saban is very personable. Also Saban is proven in college. Bill is not.

I don’t know how successful he will be nor how invested he is but will he improve on a historically .500 team with the 82 ranked recruiting class? No doubt.

The choice from UNC was a no brainer..again, what is their risk? Holding on to perennial 7-5 seasons and risking their 82nd ranked class falling apart?
They were 8 and 5 and 9 and 5 the two previous years

I'm sure for 10 mil they want better than that, not just better than Macs last year

He should land top recruiting classes as well.
Highly doubtful. Think he tries the portal route for sure. Why recruit when there's a good chance he won't be there in 4 to 5 years anyway.

He's going to be in win now mode. Portal team and screw the future as he won't be there

How would you definitively know what will happen in 2026 with North Carolina?

Seriously. How?
Look at the talent on the roster and the schedule he will be playing

Not getting to 10 wins year 2

Seriously. That's how.

Nick Saban disagrees with you. According to Schefter, Saban’s endorsement of Tommy Rees is why North Carolina seriously considered the 32-year-old Rees.
Nick Saban is one of the greatest coaches in college football history. And even St Nick quit after one year of Rees.

It’s really hard to see this working out for Carolina. If Belichick is at all at all successful, he’s taking the first NFL job he can get. He wants to take Shula‘s record.
