Belichick Interviews for UNC Head Coach

Clueless. It had nothing to do with a more level playing and everything to do with a new generation of players with more of a sense of entitlement than a desire to earn their spot and everything that goes with it. I talk to the man at least twice a week. You know not of what you type.
I gotta go with Echo, who’s in direct communication with the guy

Brady ?

So Brady is solely responsible for Belichick’s success ?

Now, I’m a huge Brady fan, but there are 10 other guys on the offense, 11 on defense and more on special teams

Belichick is also credited with being the genius behind the Giants great defenses

Belichick knew who to draft and who let go just before they started their decline.

Diminishing Belichick‘s accomplishments shows how little you know about football
In this era every NFL HC is dependent on the QB. There is no modern version of Joe Gibbs winning 3 Superbowls with the Redskins with three different average QBs.

I didn't diminish his accomplishments. Just giving a little context to his career. He's probably the greatest defensive coach ever. As a head coach who knows what would have happened had he not gotten Brady

What you mentioned is true about the draft etc but that was for the first 12 years. The last 10 years he was also horrible in the draft and free agency.

Just tell th whole story

Bill Belichik drafted Tom Brady.

Exactly. I just can't see any of these young kids just dying to play for him. Kids don't care what he did in the NFL, it's all about the money anymore for these guys.

If Charlie Weis could do it, I think Bill would do just fine.

Charlie was 49 and got fired after he got his own players. Bill is 73 and has a poor roster
Bill isn’t 400lbs with snot leaking and never a head coach in his life. If Charlie’s sloppy ass can recruit the #1 class and sit in living rooms without ever being a head coach, the GOAT will be fine.

Charlie loved recruiting. He was good at it and worked hard at it. No way is 73 year old Bill going coast to coast and being a dog in recruiting

I'd put a lot of money on that

Charlie wasn't 85 years old. And honestly, he wasn't very successful.
He was a successful recruiter, which seems to be the issue with many here. How can the GOAT recruit? All it took Charlie’s fat ass was 0 HC experience and rings as an OC under Bill

He doesn’t need to, UNC has the 82 ranked class. He never had the best talent at NE, he’ll be just fine whooping up with Top 25 talent

He had the best qb ever. And he stunk his last 4 years and got fired.

He's not 60 anymore.

He's going to struggle, mightily

What are your concerns with the GOAT upleveling the 82nd ranked class? 😂😂 he’ll do just fine, he’s the best ever

This class is over. It's how he will do with the next classes 🤣. Why do you care about this class, weird. He's the best ever when he has the best qb ever. Without him, not so much

You act like this is Bama pursuing him, NC is a middling ACC team that’s averaged 6 wins a year over the last 9 years with the current 82nd recruiting class..what could they stand to lose??!

Cause he will be an immediate upgrade on the recruiting trail, your main concern with him is him in the living room with his personality- you can’t make the connection he would upgrade their recruiting immediately?

I didn't say they had anything to lose. But it's not going to be successful. Why wouldn't you try to hire a young up and coming coach who will be there for more than 4 years?

You just fired an old coach who had the game pass them by. Now you want to hire another one. Very odd

I have many concerns. Recruiting being only one of them

The reward far outweighs the risk for a basketball school, garbage football program

Let’s be clear, Mac Brown couldn’t hold Bills jock. One great year and talk about riding the QB. Lazy comparison

Bill never coached in college before. Mack won a NC
No shit? Learn something new everyday, I’ll be creeping back to 1994 to bring some old message board threads after your latest tip. Epitome of a message board NARP

Maybe. Seems like these 3rd act coaching hires rarely work out. I hear he wants his son to replace him in a few years.

Tommy Rees interviewed twice and was heavily considered to be the next head coach according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

It's a good hire if you want to make a big splash, but I don't think it's a good hire if you want to build a CFB program for the long run. He's 72 and has never coached CFB before.

And Andy Reid wins Super Bowls with Patrick Mahomes.

So what.
He also went to the super bowl with Mcnabb and made the Playoffs with Alex Smith

His resume without Mahomes is still very good. Belichicks is not

That's what.
