Tom Brady finally suspended for 4 games.

NFL just set about a vendetta. Are there any appeals available?

The decision had more to do with the authority of the NFL than it had to do with 'evidence'.

The NFL really blew this one. Read the Court's dissenting opinion. It makes some really good points about how Goodall is punishing Brady to the same extent as if he had been using PEDs. The Pats got screwed on this one.

all you patsy homes make me laugh.

FACT: a atmosphere of anything goes has permeated NE since BB got there. Cheating is expected.
FACT: all the activity around the ball and equipment guys showed something was going on
FACT: the destroyed phone by itself speaks volumes
FACT: the CBA gives Goodell the authority- Berman was a complete moron in his decision and most legal experts expected this

You gomers act like this was the first time the Pats got caught.

You are the moron. They will be no worse than 3-1 when Brady returns. Goodell is a stooge.

well since you are clearly Forrest Gump's dumber brother as you just now figured out that whatever the owners want is what Goodell does....

and you as all patsy homers seem to have a limited grasp on reality, maybe you ought to read a book now and then. Like one on ethics and morality.

The next step would be the United States Supreme Court, but there is no guarantee the highest court would even touch this case. Most likely it's over.

Perhaps one of the Irish athletic teams can wear warm up tee shirts that say "Free Tom Brady".

I will read about the Pats as the best NFL franchise of the last 10 plus years. Read more and post less.

TG's sources are stating there more to the story. Would love to share with you folks, but am unable to share this premium information.

Goodell has tarnished the shield more than any player with PED has done. He and the NFL paid for fabricated evidence and use this evidence to conclude an offense has taken place with Brady's involvement. I can't believe the hatred of so many for the patriots that they would ignore the corruption of the NFL to allow this punishment to take place. The NFLPA is also at fault in this, how can you allow a person to collect and falsify evidence, be the prosecution, judge, jury and appellate judge in your collective bargaining with no checks and balances to keep him from abusing his power? The only thing they have proven is that the NFL needs to have a standard set of rules on measuring the PSI of a football and a scientific study on how much air may be lost throughout a game dependent on temperature. Employ someone with a basic knowledge of physics to help them with the calculations, not ex football players who sign with name with an x.
If they had an actually true test of measuring the PSI was below the acceptable limit, all they have is evidence of equipment tampering, which is a $50,000 fine, not 4 game suspension for brady, $1 million fine for Kraft and lost of a first and fourth round pick.
This is my opinion and I hate meatchickens

They took ball measurements this year and won't reveal the findings.

I understand people's hatred of the Pats. The long run of success is the same reason that I hate Alabama. I realize that the Pats have been caught cheating but so have other teams. I suspect that everyone in the NFL cheats. That being said, some punishment would be appropriate but 4 games for Brady and the loss of the draft picks is way too much. I'd still love to know why Kraft caved on this one. I suspect that he expected Goodell to drop any sanctions against Brady and got stabbed in the back. Given all of this crap, I'll be rooting for the Pats this year.

I absolutely haaaaate the Patriots. Their run would never even have started if it wasn't for the ridiculous "tuck" call. They won 4 Super Bowls, by a total of 13 points and they lost to 2 mediocre Giants teams when it counted. That being said and despite my contempt for them, this Brady suspension is a joke. Roger Goodell is a pathetic little vindictive twerp, and if the rest of the Patriot jealous owners don't step up and oust the fuerher, this league has zero integrity. Don't tell me how much money he makes for the owners. Perse could could run the NFL and make money for the league. Well, maybe not Perse, but any reasonably intelligent and educated human being could run the NFL cash cow without playing the part of a third world dictator. If the Patriots come up a game short of the playoffs this year because they start 2-2 or 1-3 in Tom's absence this season, the league will cement itself as a joke. He's the 2nd best QB of all-time (we all know who the best is/was 4-0/11/0), and I don't think his success has been predicated on PSIs.

Why are you commenting on a thread that's not ND related?

I would imagine that the suspension will be reduced to 2 games. I do not think that Brady, nor the NFL, want this to drag on and on with another court battle.

Why would the NFL reduce it to 2 games? Roger Goodell and the NFL owners have won the court case, I don't see any reason for them to reduce it to two games now.

Can't answer WHY -- question is -- would Brady and the league "settle" out of court for a 2 game suspension instead of Brady re-taking this back to the 2nd Circuit Court?

But the court has already settled the case. I just thought everything is over. Roger Goodell wants a 4 game suspension and that is what he got.

Yeah, those equipment managers deflated those balls on their own!:p

When did your special level of cry baby genius lead you to the conclusion that Tom Brady actually did something of which he hasn't ever been accused?
Tom Brady hasn't been accused of deflating footballs? That's a new one. Last I checked this is kind of what the whole investigation has been about. Deflated footballs. Try and keep up!

Tom Brady was not the one who supposedly deflated the footballs. Perhaps you should try a little harder at keeping up.

No but you can bet the farm that he "instructed" the equipment crew to deflate 'em! ;)
