Brady Quinn rips Red Face Kelly - for u pat Irish 😂

It was a vocal minority, consider that group the lunatic fringe, that wanted Marcus Freeman fired after NIU.

I was here in 2016 when Brian Kelly was 4-8. That was far far far worse.
You're flat out wrong. It was a vocal majority ripping on Coach Freeman and his leadership. It was the worse I've seen including Kelly and Willingham. Plus, with the racial garbage posts thrown in, it was much more offensive than anything said about Kelly.

It was really bad. I kept the faith I had in from days 1.

And now we're 1 win away

Demanding MF be fired? Nope.

Very very vey few demanded MF be fired.

The few that did demand MF be fired were the lunatic fringe.

nice language..........one second search of past threads with out even looking hard.............wrong again........

Freeman needs to go

Gee, you found one. Big deal. Maybe you will find 5 or 10. So what.

Now ask the other hundreds of thousands of Notre Dame Football fans.

nice revisionist post..........now it's the entire fanbase which I'm pretty sure doesn't post on this free board...........now you are still wrong and it's the hundreds of thousands of ND fans...........and soon to be the millions of subway alumni as you revise it more and more

Don
Kelly did much for us. He also left us in a poor manner, in how he departed and what he said. His actions eliminated all the good will he built over the years and Now instead of fans appreciating him, they despise him. Maybe despise us too strong a word but there is no love for Kelly and that is his own fault. He could have been remembered fondly but fuked up

And his behaviour in leaving is indicative of him putting himself first versus freeman who puts the team first and is respectful of nd tradition
I was just chatting with BK the other night and he speaks so fondly of you.😊

Because you find 1 person on this free board that wanted Freeman fired, even 5-10 people, doesn't mean shit.

Very very few wanted Freeman fired after NIU, and the ones that did are the lunatic fringe.

Kelly n I used to eat at the same restaurant in Naples when he visited his parents. We were always cool 😂until he made that bad early morning departure. After that I stopped inviting him for holiday dinners, so consider yourself fortunate. TelX n Alice say they may show up sometime so don’t do what Kelly did n fuk it up. My wife is an outstanding cook

I heard you promised him lobster and when he came to the house you were heating up spaghetti O's.

You are entitled to your opinion. I disagree. Even the most ardent supporters were wondering if MF , hired as a first time head coach , was going to succeed. It wasn’t the “ lunatic fringe “ as you so eloquently put it. Leading up to the season this team was billed as the most talented team in years. “ Loaded” was what many people were saying. Go look at the preseason videos if you doubt me. Then to lose to NIU at home after beating TAM was horrible. They were a 28 point favorite. Say what you want. Believe what you want . I am stating facts. A team with as much talent as ND has , should never lose at home to a 28 point underdog in your 3rd year as head coach.
👍

On a recent podcast which I think is called “2 pros & a cup of joe”, Brady Quinn joined a crescendo of other analysts like Dan Patrick, Cowherd, Finebaum, and many others in exposing the idiocy and lack of class Kelly showed in leaving ND abruptly for a “better opportunity to win “ at LS U
Quinn was relentless. It is so sweet to see a score of top analysts all lambasting Kelly
Finebaum said he spent time with ND fans post Suger Bowl and their glee at winning was matched by their satisfaction that Kelly is sitting on his butt n failing

Thanks for dedicating a thread to me

My feelings on Kelly are multifaceted

You have to give him credit for resurrecting Notre Dame’s football program resulting in Notre Dame playing for the national championship in 2012
You have to give him credit for five consecutive 10 win seasons

I was highly critical of him flirting with the Philadelphia Eagles in season three
I was critical of him starting Wimbush
I was critical of his treatment of Manti Teo
I was highly critical of the way he left Notre Dame.

One of my mottos is: SEMPRE AVANTI

You can’t change the past so why dwell in it ?

This site, as with most sites, is full of bandwagon jumpers. One of the hardest things is being a true fan. I know this, because I'm also a Cub fan. We should know when to pull the trigger and when to holster it! You'll never have continual instant gratification from anything, or any team, you follow.
How’d you like to be a white Sox fan like me. And throw in da bears. Help me lord

Fact . Not one person saw ND getting this far after the NIU loss. And yes, myself along with many had real questions and doubts he was going to succeed. It wasn’t just the NIU loss. It was also brutal losses to Marshall and Stanford in 2022. It was getting smacked around by Louisville in 2023. Then NIU loss happened. That is where people really questioned the hiring of MF. It was a legit question to ask. However to his credit, he turned a bad situation into a positive. The NIU loss basically became a catalyst or wake up call. MF and the Irish responded resoundingly. Still one more game to go. Win or lose , I think MF got his feet on firm ground and got a grip on what it takes to win.
Yeah I was one of those people that were doubting Freeman and criticized him. There were many people. But the Hypocrites on this board are incredible. The same people who were also criticizing them are now calling people out. We're in the national championship game of this board is like a bunch of 8-year-olds criticizing one another

as per sjb, he has a 100 million guaranteed reasons to help him sleep well at night. I doubt he gives a cr@p how ND remembers him.
I would say you're wrong. I'll bet Kelly wass wishing to make the CFB, which he is yet to do at LSU, before Notre Dame. He said himself that success would be limited at Notre Dame, and now look where they're at. He chose his lot and most of us don't despise him, but I have a smile on my old face when I think of how he left South Bend and what he had to say about his leaving.
