Both Notre Dame and Georgia open their seasons by playing weak teams at home for the first game. The ND-Georgia game in South Bend will be the first real test for both teams this season. The Irish Huddle Podcast on the front page by Lou Somogyi and Brian Driskell is excellent. They paint a picture of a Georgia team that is stacked with returning players and tons of experience. Included in the experienced player category is 5 star Georgia QB, Jacob Eason (6'6" 235) the son of former ND wide receiver Tony Eason. This game will be very special for the Eason's. And the analysts point out that a win over Georgia for ND wouldn't necessarily mean that much but a loss would be devastating. They are expecting to see Georgia throwing the ball to both WR's and RB's. It should be a high scoring and very interesting game to watch and a real test for defenses. Check out what they have to say about both teams strengths and weakness's.

FSU opens up with Bama but plays LA-Monroe in week two and has Delaware St. sandwiched in between Clemson and Florida in November.

Thought you'd like to know when FSU scheduled their weak teams. :D

A weak Temple team that has averaged 10 win seasons the past couple years, beat Penn State, beat multiple P5 schools, was ranked in top 25? That is ND's "weak" opponent.

The previous 7 years have taught Notre Dame fans, no opponent is weak with Kelly as coach.

Hopefully, that changes this year.

I think that lesson was learned long before BK became head coach. I seem to recall a 3-9, 6-6, 7-6 seasons with losses to Navy, Syracuse, Air Force, UCONN, Purdue, BC..

Nin.........

Note, that both Lou Somogyi and Brian Driskell thought that ND beating Temple was a forgone conclusion. But, it's CFB so you may well be right and you never know. All you have to do is look at Navy last year! (How many is that for Kelly???)

Hi Alice,

Great post! Alice I know you are a student of the game and read the paid portion of Warchant............what's your prediction for the FSU-Bama game?

No.
That is not what Lou or Bryan said at all. Why do you come on here & make things up?

I had a conversation with Bryan about this. In fact, two of the three questions he answered on the Podcast about Temple came from me. And we discussed it afterwards. He never stated it was a forgone conclusion, in fact, he has stated multiple times Temple is a really good team.

You need to stop this. Now.

That a portal opens up on the field and both teams are transported to an alien planet? :D

...actually, I will watch (if it proves to be interesting) to see which team opens with a loss. Doesn't Vegas have Bama as the favorite?

My prediction is that their graduation rates will be will continue to suck.

I agree with Alice. As long as FSU has had the likes of Bowden and Jimbo decency or education will never be a part of the teams priorities!

"That a portal opens up on the field and both teams are transported to an alien planet?"

My sentiments exactly.

Alice,

Good one! You get it! Your understanding and appreciation of locker room humor is.................well, appreciated! As stated previously, it is easy to tell who has never been in a locker room environment and never played sports before!

And now that I know that Temple is such a "powerhouse" (while some here say Georgia has nothing on ND) I'll be flipping back and forth to catch a little of that one as well.

OMG, do you suppose with all this talk and focus on Georgia that Temple might actually........................ahem, ahem....................(win)!! Say it ain't so..........:(
