Now I'm not one of those old fogey traditionalist, and love the upgrades. But wow sometimes I have to plug my ears the new sound system is so loud. I've been to every home game this year and it's the same every time. Anyone else experiencing this, or do I just have sensitive ears?

I have no problem because I'm fitted with my Bose earbuds listening to the radio call and those buds block out virtually everything while I am using them.

I have one ear bud in listening to 101.5 Don Crique (sp?) and Allen Pinkett for the play by play but the other one I have to plug from time to time because it's too loud.

Good. We want it as loud as possible. It helps disrupt the opponent. We want the crowd on their feet cheering and giving life to the team through the cheering. I think ND is an awesome crowd following. But compare the entrance for players to ND stadium vs the one at VTech. It is not even the same league. Look at the fans at Tennessee Saturday even until half time when they basically knew they were going to lose, they still were getting loud as they could.

I mean if you watch this and your hair doesn't stand on end as a College Football fan you might be a little dead on the inside

My God, what else can you nincompoops complain about? The stadium has more life and excitement than ever before, mainly because of the video board and sound system. Stay home and watch it on TV where you can control the sound level. Let the rest of us enjoy the fanatics in the Stadium.

Ear plugs are cheap and muffle the sound. Can't listen to Criqui, the absolute worst.

I guess reading comprehension is NOT your strong suit. Hence the "love the upgrades". It was a question, not a criticism you dolt.

the 40 yard line in the upper bowl
Ok, I've been on the North east corner, I wonder if location makes a difference? Anyway, I love all the upgrades. I do miss the trough's in the mens bathrooms. Now we have to wait just like the women lol.

If I didn't have the action right in front of me, I would have no idea what the heck Criqui was even talking about half the time. Allen Pinkett is a part time member of my church when he visits Indiana with his wife and he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Same for Reggie Brooks. Outstanding. During the breaks I take out my buds to listen to the Jumbo and announcements. So far, so good. My friends went to a Wisconsin home game earlier this season and they said it was much louder there than at ND.

VT and Clemson have the best entrance onto the field. However good entrances don't mean sh*t if you can't win the game.

This will eventually kill the game. No one wants to be barked at by artificial noise.

Read your own writing dolt. Right after you said that, you questioned the sound system. The question was a criticism.
Perhaps one day when you save up your nickles and make it to a game live you can have an opinion. For now, just shut your trap and let those who actually been there discuss intelligently. BTW, if a sentence ends in a question mark, that means it's a question..dolt.

The scoreboard is too loud. One problem is all the sound comes from the scoreboard with no balance / surround sound. Perhaps not possible due to echo but I was there for the constant playing of crazy train at the first night game in approx. 20 years and I remember the sound more balanced. I sat in the first half in approx. row 40 at the 5-10 yard line closest to the scoreboard and it just seemed to be a constant blaring in my ear. I then sat in the second half on the 35 yard line furthest from the scoreboard and it was better.

The problem in general was too many ND commercials, not enough of the band (could barely hear them when I was down near the 5 by the scoreboard) and an ineffective use of the board for replays. There were a couple of controversial plays that were reviewed in the first half but no replay was shown on the board. Is this policy? Everyone I was sitting around wanted to see them....not another ND commercial or the spelling of the word Irish with different colours or backgrounds. Without these types of replays I would prefer they just get rid of the board.

You should hear the sound before fans enter the stadium. With empty seats the sounds bounces all over the place. It is much louder before the gates open. We have to move our usher meetings before hand under the seating area.

And you my friend should not ASSume what you don't know. I was at Georgia game and going back for USC. Good seats too. Love the sound system, nice and loud.

PS wear earplugs and let the real fans enjoy the sounds of the game.

I had no problem and was at the goal line nearest to the jumbotron about 40 rows up.
My sons and families were in the south end by the Jumbo last Saturday. They had no issue with the sound, only the fact that fans in front of them kept on turning around every second to see the board. They are going to start springing for better seats midfield and northward. From my location, the Jumbo is a thing of beauty. In fact, the whole stadium is beautiful. I think Rock would be proud.
