when it comes to Hayes, I've learned you just never know what is going to happen. He went from saying he "loved ND w/ every fiber in his being" to committing to USC and planning to move to Cali like a month later. Then when it looked like we had all the momentu earlier this year he signs papers to USC. So while we have tremendous momentum right now, until he's at ND, I have no idea what to expect. IMO, he wont verbal for awhile and will take a few visits. Ultimately, most still think he will end up choosing the Irish.
As for Betiku, pipe dream at this point. Visiting A&M for the 2nd time, wants to get back to FSU, also visiting Florida. These usually dont end w/ an irish verbal. But, he wants to visit and is setting 1 up for the WF game. Wait and see what happens. May hit a home run, may fall out of it. Have to see how he likes ND on his visit.

I like the enthusiasm! hope your right about Betiku. like i said, wait til after his visit to judge anything. i think we'll know rather quickly if we have a real shot or we're out.
I never understand why kids don't like the weather in south bend. They will face cold conditions in pros if they have a shot to make it. A small trade-off for a great degree.An excellent chance to become a legacy too.
It's a long time between now and NSD. I think we do add Hayes to our list of commits, but also feel we must keep winning. I think Betiku requires some personal attention from 35, and hope he is able to tear himself away from the pool and martinis and scantily clad ladies to offer an assist here. damn, this class is shapin up nicely.
Hi Tex -- we need one or two of our DL recruits to have that twitch off the line . I watched Kareem's film and he has a motor but I'm not sure about his first step . I am not saying he doesn't have a quick burst it just didn't jump out at me in the film I watched . He also plays very upright which I know Gilmore will fix in short order . IMO getting Hayes and playing him @ DE is the ticket . Kareem would make a terrifically athletic DT .
Agreed Bodi - we lose sight of kids already in the fold, Okwara is as highly rated as Kareem . Hopefully they both have the athleticism we need off the edge .
kh35, we damn well better get some DL that can pressure and sack a good QB. Our guys do get push, but surprised by their inability to close the deal. Way too many times the opposing QB is able to sidestep the pressure and then pass or run, which puts a ton of pressure on our DBs. Thought Trumbetti and Bonner were going to surprise to the upside this year and give us the pass rush we need, but wrong on that score. Love out interior DL, just need some end pieces.
Tex - by far the missing link moving forward . In a certain respect I think pass rushers are born not made , ND has to recruit a natural . You can't " coach up " what a guy like Aaron Lynch has .
In basketball the term is you can't coach height
Big picture ND will continue to score 30+ a game , being able to take opposing QB's out not so much .
