No such luck: My kids work hard; take responsibility for their actions; tell the truth; feel they have a responsibility to support themselves; and expect the same from others; and they don't act like fools. They don't complain when things don't go their way. They strive to overcome obstacles. They have been the pride of my wife's and my life. Yep, my days may be numbered; only the good Lord knows how many. But, in the time I have left I will hope and pray their "arbitrary values" will find some small space still. And now, a tip of my cap to my dad, a WWII vet, gone many years now, whose "arbitrary values" stood tall in my youth, who took pleasure in the small things (Saturday ND radio games), never put himself ahead of his family, and didn't utter one word of complaint when his end came. A well done to him and all veterans; every day.
