Would someone with more football knowledge than myself please explain to me what is supposed to be the strategic or tactical benefit of having the quarterback handoff to a single back from the shotgun; as opposed to handing off from under center. The handoff always seems so tentative and the back is almost at a standstill when he takes the ball. Yes, I get the read option thing, but that isn't that possible if the QB is under center?
