Anyone get season tickets? I was about to get some but they come out to like $450 per game. Why would anyone pay that price when you can likely get the same tickets for half the price on Stub Hub or ebay?

I looked into it but was completely turned off by the sales tactics, as well as the cost. I've become very disappointed in my alma mater and their athletic department.

I go to one or two games every year....usually premium games such as USC, Stanford, Michigan State etc. There may be reasons to get seasons tickets...you may have lots of money and do not mind giving it to Notre Dame in this way...you may even feel like lining the pockets of someone on Stubhub or Ebay (I have used both but prefer not to) but if you know anything about ND games there are always tickets available. If you want great seats (lower level between the 30's) then you can get them around Campus the day of the game from face value to face value plus 50%....if you want corners, visitors corners upper deck, end zone etc....you can get these at face value or less.

I once did the calculation and discovered it's actually cheaper by comparison to attend all home games by purchasing two tickets per game from scalpers and pay for parking than to buy season tickets. You don't sit in the same seats every game but so what. I guess it's what's important to the fan.

Same here -- a yea ago. If were JUST the cost of the tickets, I can handle that. The killer (and end point) for me was the ANNUAL, voluntary/mandatory, stadium donation -- per seat no less. So, yea, when you factor in all the costs, there is simply no way to re-coup any of the costs overall.

This was my reason too. Cheaper to pay scalper prices.

There is a better less costly way. Become a stadium usher. I have become friends with an usher in my section and he gets in for free (he receives no salary), the university supplies lunch tickets and free parking. His area is great because he has the opportunity to watch 95% of the game. You have to make a commitment though.
