Scott to tOSU

Can't say I'm surprised. Hate to admit it, but ND can't lose these kids from their backyard and expect to win a title. Very disappointing.

Woof.
Interesting that we weren’t even in his Top 2 Midwest schools.

At first it was Michigan for he & his family but that changed:

“Going into the visit, my fam was heavily set on Michigan. Throughout the (Ohio State) visit they were really still set on Michigan. But towards the end of it, coach Johnson sat us down & went over an in depth plan that they had for me.”

Freeman had a great 7 month run in recruiting… last 10 months is worse than Kelly

Freeman hasn’t shown the ability to coach or develop either

I think we have a great 2023 and he gets on track, but if not, gotta move on fast

Weird how quiet this place is. The other boards are on meltdown city. I’m not mad, just disappointed. I was a firm believer freeman was going to recruit to the level of a top 5 program. Moving the needle a couple of inches vs Kelly won’t get it done on Saturdays unfortunately. Particularly when there’s a major dearth in experience ever actually winning and developing a program.

Fickell was the better choice as many that got banned or stopped posting stated. He was better than BK in my view and I liked BK so that’s not easy to admit. But I hope 2025 is a rebound class for freeman and that he learns quickly how to CEO a blue blood program woth 1 year experience. I won’t hold my breath after this year.

What other boards? Wouldn’t know.

D3 Bryan Driskell ridiculing Notre Dame coaches. If you can’t rise to their level, sit on a couch and ridicule.

Pretty irrelevant

This will go to December
Maybe, but what’s really disappointing is Michigan may still get him or miami or ga. He doesn’t mention nd and our ace was supposedly his mom. Seems like his mom was ok with miami, all in with Michigan and then fell in love with Day.

Not sure coach Washington will survive to next year. I'm not sold that all of it's fair, but I'm sure freeman sees how badly the offense is out recruiting the defense.

Golden, Washington, and O'Leary. Who'd have thought cornerback recruiting would be the most solid d position at ND from a recruiting standpoint

Perspective

We all have it. But we easily lose it.

I heard Scott to OSU and was immediately truly punched in the gut. Lost my perspective.

Then I remembered this is a big kid in a small, young, immature mind who is easily impressed. That’s not a knock. It is the definition of most 18 year old recruits.

Many have said Scott May commit in July and could possibly flip by signing day.

Well that could happen. The biggest obstacle to him flipping will be having OSu in his ear and the Scott’s not wanting to admit they made a bad decision

I honestly don’t sweat this at all. I am, however disappointed in Freeman. Sure it’s a tough job and dealing with 18 year old minds is brutal. But I believe in the power of being a closer. The power of being the better salesperson. The power of addressing every facet of why this Chicago based recruit should be Irish

That includes dissecting the bs that a D line coach is the be all and the ticket to the nfl. That’s total bs

This kid is going to the nfl unless he gets hurt or turns out sucking

No coach at the power 5 level is that much better than another coach and is gonna make a difference.

Larry Johnson is however, a better closer and bull s—-ter than Al Washington and Freeman

So my perspective is that Freeman may have charisma, may work hard, May persevere, - but as of right now, I think he is not the closer, not the biggest dog in the sales arena

If he was, Miami would not have been Scott’s flavor of choice 30 days ago, Michigan his choice 15 days ago, ND his choice 90 days ago and OSu 35 hours ago

Yeah I’m disappointed. In Freeman. He may have a great year. May win it all. That’s my hope. But his recruiting chops need some help.

He needs a break. A great season would put us on level with dispelling much of the bs flying around

Without a break, I don’t know if he can outsell the bs that’s out there in - 1- a short term view dominated by NIL . And 2- a long term view dominated by a coach getting you to the nfl.

And in this world of poor parenting, I was hoping the Scott’s as parents had some sway with their indecisive, ever fickle son

Apparently the apple is still attached to the tree.

And fruit never ripens until the tree tells the apple to mature

You seem to have no perspective

The devastating summer commitments … I’m old enough to remember when ND landed Keely and Bowen. Hell I’m even old enough to remember when Vanderdoes signed and then flipped to UCLA.

You seem to have no perspective
Ass comment.

Just dumb on your part. You must be very upset to lash out Give me one iota of my post that justifies your comment that I have no perspective

Every thing I said is stone cold truth

the optimism in landing this guy is what’s baffling. losing top flight guys, even in your own backyard, is not rare ask Bama about Peter woods. But the idea from the “ experts” that we were 1 or 2 and mom would sway it for us seems to be excessive kool aid drinking. I listened to singer and his “ sources” for an entire year talk about confidence In Bowen/Keeley sticking and it makes me question what the “ experts” really know and who their sources are. i guess there are no knowns and mostly unknowns until December. vent over

What is so stupid about the usual trolls here is that so many want to blame the coaches.

Just maybe this brat is a brat.

Just maybe ND was never in his sights because of how much tougher here is then OSU.

18 years old are unpredictable anyway. Then you add diva and being treated like their sh** don't stink since JR High and just for fun throw in parents who interfere too much for various reasons and its no wonder recruiting is like playing craps with loaded dice all too often.
