Scott Frost

Glad to see him lose. Ever since he claimed winning the national championship by beating one decent team in 2017, I’ve wanted to see him get his. Karma is rough. Maybe he should have stayed at UCF beating nobody and claiming how great he is. Dude just can’t seem to put it together in close games anymore.

Nebraska can still recruit decent talent. The problem is Frost had one good year at the right time with the right QB that made him look like a genius. That’s his only winning season in 7 years as a HC. I really thought it would work at the time , but Frost’s ego doesn’t allow him to learn from his mistakes.

If Nebraska stops going for the flashy hires and picks someone with proven experience they can be respectable again.

Was never offered the job. We chose MF
You don't offer someone and have it turned down. IMO, based on everything I have read about Luke Fickell, his wife, and 6 kids, Fickell wasn't leaving Cincinnati and uprooting his family for South Bend, Indiana.

Yeah...okay

Well....

this 👇👇👇👇👇
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
talks...

YEP...never going some place right up until that "some place" offers an 8 fugure salary

Suddenly the pasture became a really lu$ciou$ geeen
Don't hold your breath on Nebraska offering over 10,000,000.00 per season. You may perish.

And for that money, they will shoot much much higher than Luke Fickell.

There is no way on Gods geeen earth that Fickell was going to turn down ND. It’s a job of a lifetime. It’s THE catholic university. It’s the best job or one of the top in all of CFB. He would have been on every Pro radar in 5 years. He coaches at Cinci. They are a stepping stone.

I have no beef with Frost...

But I am glad A.D., Trev Alberts, is taking it on the chin and looking like an idiot!

He's the same douche that cut the the wrestling program at Nebraska-Omaha a week after they won the National title!

Nebraska could not afford the buyout to fire him last season.

Read the bios on Luke Fickell, his wife, and 6 young kids. Ohio born, Ohio bred.

Like Golson said, they ain't going to Nebraska.

Columbus one day? Certainly.

Only way Fickell ends up at Ohio State is if Freeman fails at ND.

Well if it really is true that no one can fix Nebraska, they might as well keep Scott Frost forever. Eventually he probably will turn it around. He seems like a good coach, he definitely was good at UCF.

So just let Scott Frost have the job indefinitely. As long as they keep losing all their games by less than one score....
Are you heading to Portland soon?

Frost is now 10-26 (.277 winning percentage) in conference. That is absolutely brutal. You want to give a coach plenty of time to install their own system and players they have developed. 4 years worth of conference games seems like more than enough time.

He made it clear he was not interested when ND came calling. Never even had a face to face. Told his agent no thanks.

He threw his assistants under the bus. Said something like the offense has to learn that you have to be more creative in this league

“Unless they recover it...right?”

No, 88, not “unless they recover it”. It was stupid and I said it as soon as he kicked it. The upside was marginal at best. You get the ball back on your own 40. So what? The momentum had swung and he gave it right back. It was a dumb call. I like frost, and want him to to do well, but that was dumb.

I frankly doubt that outside of a truly great coach that Nebraska can ever become what it was.

In this day and age of speed and passing games I do not think they can ever recruit well enough there.

I look at a school this way if they are trying to be a true national power: how bit a population is there within 400 miles(Basicall;y a days drive)? Look at all the top powers in College football and they all have a huge population base in that respect compared to Nebraska.

As regards Frost, after four full seasons you can pretty much sum up a coach.

compared to the 25 yard touchback? YOu are comparing a turnover to 15 yars.

looking like Scott Frost’s last year. Not sure anyone can fix Nebraska
No doubt in my mind this program can be turned around. A coach who on side kicks when up 11 is not the one to turn it around. He needs to join the BK Tulsa, USF, club. That call should be an immediate firing. Flat out stupid. If it had worked it was stupid.

Kind of like going for 2 when up 11. Kelly did that against North Western also, and naturally went on to lose the game.

Urban can 😂

How about being down 1 point with the ball at Tulsa's 20, and 42 ticks left on the clock? Think about it....4th down and 20 yards to the endzone...and Kelly chooses to throw into the end zone. This call was worse than Frost's on-side kick call....because Tulsa saw it coming. There wasn't even the element of surprise attached to the stupidity. This wasn't a 45 yard attempt....Notre Dame had the ball at the 20.

No...a Brian Kelly head-scratcher makes one from Scott Frost look like swatting a fly.

I remember a softball league game, we were in the 8th inning an the other pitcher had like 18 strikouts of 21 batters faced . 2 more k-out in 8th and our coach yells to the batter “take 2 strikes and then hit to right!”. Both teams fell down laughing! That call became the team slogan!

From a pure football standpoint, Nebraska would be far far better off in the Big 12 and recruiting to the Big 12.

But I get it. The almighty dollar rules in most cases. Including Lincoln.
Nebraska should have played the long game, going to the Big 10 made them WORSE.

I was pulling for him to turn Nebraska around but enough is enough. That was one of the dumbest calls I’ve ever seen.
And on top of being the HC he is the Special Teams guy. So that was absolutely 100% him.

Unless they recover it...right?
Nope. BAD. Period. Up by 11 against a team known for plodding offense and good D. You don't risk giving them the ball in your territory when they have to score 3 times to tie you. A FG. A TD and a 2 point conversion.

One of the biggest things that hurt Nebraska is the roster cap rule. They were famous as a developmental program with an extremely high rate of success turning walk-ons into bonafide D1 players. But now they can;t put enough on the roster.

The onside kick was just an awful awful call by Frost. Changed the game
"The onside kick was just an awful awful call by Frost. Changed the game"

But, if Nebraska recovers and ultimately wins, it was a gutsy call and he is a genius. Easy to 2nd guess after the fact

But, sometimes it is really not a calculated gamble; sometimes it is just damned stupid! This was in the stupid category.

When Sean Payton called the on side kick in the SB was that a stupid call also?
