Scott Booker has been let go

So we will have a new special teams head guy for next year.
Not a surprise, Booker was in over his head since being hired from grad assistant. Really wonder if a move for Jeff Quinn is in the cards again, since being stashed away by Brian Kelly for a couple years on the staff.

Some of Kelly's best seasons were with Quinn as OC. Could see him taking Sanford's place.

This is a good and necessary first step. Hope we see a new quality DC from outside hired shortly with flexibility to bring in some new position coaches. Kelly deficiencies aside, getting significantly better on ST and defense are critical going forward.

I think Kelly stated that his next DC will be allowed to hire his assistants -- which will be a major shift in philosophy for Kelly

the TEs were getting very few catches under booker and just not playing as well as in the past and so a change needed to be made in my opinion

Cry me a river Pennick.
Booker has coached like garbage for years and probably was being paid 200k+ a year.

Booker was showing up to work in a ski mask everyday.

Happy holidays from me at the Christmas party.

Good to see compassion is not one of your stronger qualities. Outside of football these people do have families you know.

He has earned enough money
to not have a mortgage payment ever again
and was a weak link for years.

I wish him well and hope he becomes a better coach. I hope he has an amazing life with his family.

Do I feel bad? Hell f'ing no.

Someone obviously has no concept of fiscal reality.

Tough news around the Holidays but not surprising. Good luck to him.

He coached at Western Kentucky. I wonder if Sanford and he get along. The special teams and TEs did not do well at ND so Sanford may not be interested. Still, he is experienced now. It may be that Booker was just promoted before his time. Maybe he would be a nice addition for Sanford's Staff.

If your ever in NY or if you are in South Bend for the Georgia game- you can call me- we can meet up.
I doubt you would call me a dope to my face.
I will end it there. I'm too busy eating a steak sandwich in a rooftop bar.
For all I know, you are some old retired hack driving a Buick laying down at night next to a crusty cream puff.

As sad as it is to lose one's position around the holidays, this needed to happen. Best of luck to him. Maybe Sanford will bring him to Western Kentucky.

I laugh at those (know who you are) who act as if these decisions have an impact on your personal lives. Please get a grip.

Boy, I'll bet you he's scared now. You sound really tough.

If he has been soooo terrible at his job, why hasn't the person that hired him and enabled him to stay at his post for this long been shown the door with him. We need some accountability from top on down. Einstein's definition of insanity "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different results". Stop the insanity and fire Kelly already.
