I think I may have confused him with Pete Duranko, who I think kicked field goals, at least.

He was the emergency punter, and in fact punted in the 1966 game against MSU. At one point in the game, because of a bad snap, he attempted to pass the ball out of desperation, and a photographer got a picture of his lone pass attempt. And because he was left handed he said that he thought he looked like a much bigger version of Ken Stabler. You can see the play at the 5:00 minute mark
