That's rewatched. ......

How anybody could question our coaching staff is beyond me. 4 turnovers and multiple drops is all you need to know. ND simply handed this game to Clemson.

That is because you are brain dead.

I still have questions for the coaching staff on some of the calls but you are correct the players dropped the ball on this one. You can't turn it over 4 times in the second half on the road while rallying from behind and expect to win.

Well, perhaps you should read kelly's quotes from yesterday.

And you're an asshole.

I'm from Philly and we have a rather famous ND fan who travels w bus loads to South Bend multiple times per yr . He has about 200 on his email list which he sends out every Thurs before a game . He started the one yesterday with
turnovers turnovers nough said move on to Navy

I think asshole was being kind , anyone who even briefly thinks about hanging the loss @ Clemson on Kelly imo is not worthy of even interfacing with -- it would be like trying to discuss politics on an intellectual level w someone who watches Fox News - what's the point ?

Come on man lets be real. Clemson dominated ND through 3 quarters and sat back a little in the fourth. 3 of the 4 turnovers were 100% forced. Get off your high horse and move on.

who cares "why" ... it was a close game, ND did some good things and some bad things, Clemson did some good things and some bad things. Clemson deserved the win.

Turnovers. An ongoing problem for 6 years now. Either they aren't stressing ball security in practice or they are teaching it incorrectly.

Redzone offense. Another horrendous problem year after year and no signs of it getting better.

A stupid decision to go for 2 points with 1/4 of the game left and then the stupidity compounded by forcing us to burn a TO.. and then he still decides to go for 2.

A terrible play call at the end of the game when Clemson had been stuffing the run all night.

That's how I can blame the coaching staff.

From what I read about Kelly, he gave the qb the option to throw or pass and he decided to keep it. Up until that point, ND was moving the ball efficiently in the air (in the 4th qrt). I would question the decision as well.

Here's what I wrote about kelly post game in response to 348..... If you read kelly's recent press conference transcript you will find that he agrees with me..... I never "hung" this loss on kelly.

BGI User 348 said:

I agree 110% with BK on this!!!!! ND did NOT lose the game based on this..........Players gotta make plays!!!GET BETTER!!!

It certainly contributed.... No one gets a pass in this loss.

Clemson was beatable and we let a major opportunity slip away.

Kudos to them for the win and we better hope that they hold form. (I will repeat, I think Dabo is a heckuva guy).

A win would have placed us smack dab in the thick of the playoff picture. Now we need help. That's reality.

If Clemson can hold form and our only loss is this 2 pointer to them then it may be more attractive than other 1 loss teams.

Right now we do not control our own destiny. We lost that by playing well below average....

Some of that was Clemson's doing. Some wasn't.

We need help for a title run and that's on everyone...kelly included....

I said that the moment the final gun sounded off.
Some games the coaches are to blame and rightfully so.
But we were nothing but a turnover machine that night.
Clemson even went into a shell nearly all the second half and played not to lose.
Through all that in that mess......we still almost pulled it out.
That's why I said it's absolutely critical on how BK handles this going forward. If he relishes this position and says men, we are going to beat everyone by a ton. Play statement football no matter the competition. If we can hang 60 on a team let's do it.

I don't buy that there was an option to throw. If you watch the replay CJ goes to run block immediately. If there was an option CJ wouldn't be run blocking.

So Kelly was lying when he said that, that's what you believe. Pathetic

I love all the arm chair idiots on this board that think they know more than Kelly. Just pathetic

What's more pathetic is a poster that sets up a straw man and attributes a lie to posters.....

"I think asshole was being kind , anyone who even briefly thinks about hanging the loss @ Clemson on Kelly imo is not worthy of even interfacing with -- it would be like trying to discuss politics on an intellectual level w someone who watches Fox News - what's the point ?

6 kellyirish35, Today at 8:52 AM"

Show me one poster that attributed this Clemson loss to kelly.

This should be good......

Lastly, kelly shouldered some of the blame for the loss in a recent press conference.

I guess you should call him an "assh***" for that.....

That's quite the response, well thought out and full of such insight. I think I might change my mind on the play call now.

Talk about moving on...why have you not moved on?

If ND fans want to hash out what they believe can be done better to win football games then that's none of your business...nuff said.

Presumably the option was to make the run or pass call at the line when he saw the defensive alignment. He signaled for the run play so everyone would be on the same page; hence the run blocking

Laughable that their are vermin on this board ( cgvr turnover ) that think a HC is measured by one play call -- just shows there absolute ignorance to the process .

Where did I say the HC "is measured by one play"? Keep making stuff up. You just aren't a very bright person. You're quite dull and incredibly dimwitted.

Agree .... if you watch FOX you are so much more informed than those who don't. On an intellectual level anyway. What other options are there .... MSNBC? That will make you both ignorant and intellectually defunct.

I agree. For whatever reason, the wet conditions seemed to affect ND more than Clemson. We had far more dropped passes, and 4 turnovers to their 1. I'd like to play them again in dry conditions. But nevertheless, they won fair and square, and the result is in. The team must move on from here. Go Irish!! Beat Navy!!
