But I think ND is going to land some big time players down the stretch. I'm going to predict that the Irish land the following guys.

WR Javon Mckinley
DL Oluwole Betiku
DE Daelin Hayes
S Jordan Fuller
CB Donte Vaughn
CB/S Damar Hamlin

ND will finish with a top 8 class. Book it!

IIO, you haven't been keeping up here. It's already been established that talent won't come to ND. Kelly is leaving to the NFL.

JK, thanks again and I enjoy your posts.

Go Irish!
Beat Texas!

Landing half of those guys would be huge... love your optimism.

Do you see ND using Hayes as a guy that puts his hand down, in the same way they used Kolin Hill?

unless UCLA has a staff over hail OB will not flip.

This weekend will go a long way to making IIO's list a reality. We need a convincing win with the offense being explosive, and the defense being aggressive and disruptive. Huge number of recruits on campus for this game.

Elite talent won't come to ND simply because they can't focus enough on their craft. The players there are killing themselves just to stay eligible. Who has time to focus on football?

That's why Tillery, ESB , Crawford , etc, etc decided to go elsewhere.

Hoosier Storm has now taken the lead in most ignorant poster for 2015. Congratulations!

Three and four star players like, but not limited to, Martin, Nix, Nichlas, Watt, Jackson, Shembo, Jones, Eifert, Slaughter and H. Smith seemed to find time in the last four years to study and still improve their skills to the point of being drafted by the NFL.

Could he be right in the case of five star players? Could a five star be unable to study and improve his skills? Wait a minute - Teo, Floyd, Tuitt and so on.

I agree on Hayes and Vaughn. In the end i think we land these 2 and have a pretty good shot at Fuller. As for McKinley, I think it's either him or Alloway, whichever pops 1st. Although, i read elsewhere that they talk and like ND but say distance could play a factor. So take that for what its worth.

McKinley and Alloway have no bearing on one another. Both play different spots. Javon a true WR and Alloway a slot.
Now Alloway and Stovall will affect each other. And I prefer Stovall (more versatile)

ok. i dont know why i thought McKinley and Alloway were the same position then. We'll see what happens. These guys may end up like another JuJu smith, who liked ND, but end up staying on the west coast

The ones that go to ND want a college degree from a prestigious university, which is something I'm sure you're lacking. You probably have a GED, and maybe not even that.

How is it living in mom's basement?

All of them could stay west coast. I don't belieive they will. USC is not pushing for McKinley. USC wants STovall at RB and he wants slot. And, Alloway doesn't seem to want to leave momma, so he will end up at Cal or UCLA.

If McKinley and Stovall were added to Claypool - Stepherson the '14 class and the holders, the WR talent on the roster, at some point in the next 3 seasons, might be the top group assembled at ND - and then add Jones and Wright -

All playing behind HH's elite OL! And throw in the fresh approach by Sanford!

DC's will be up having nightmares for weeks with ND on the schedule!

I will keep my hopes up about recruiting but right now it isn't good. Just look at what Florida St. and especially USC are doing, I say especially USC since we play them every year, both continue to land big 5 star recruits. I think their overall recruiting averages are almost at 4.0 as well, a bigger deal than just getting a couple 5 star players.

The one positive, and I mentioned it in a post last week, is that our offensive line recruiting has been solid and we continue to get top commits up front. Of course on the other hand our secondary continues to lack the recruits needed and is always our worst position along with defensive ends.

Long year ahead and we have to hope Malik becomes a solid QB because his play will not only determine whether we win 10 games but also who wants to join this program looking towards the future. Let's think positive as tomorrow approaches... Go Irish!!!

ND will never match USC in terms of # of elite players - on the bench - but at any given time only 11 guys are on the field. ND can get enough that barring injury, ND can compete.
Especially if ND puts a well coached fundamentally effort in each game. Team first mentality.

All the prima dona's on that SC roster, all want to be the next big name ( that's why they chose Hollywood) and with that can come individualism, selfish play and mistakes.

Hope you are right. It would be very encouraging. Now if we can just run the first series of plays Saturday without calling a time out.

ND continues to recruit within a .5 star differential of FSU/USC and Bama. Not quite on par, but close. And that is hard to do with thefact that about 25% of the top 150 guys cannot get past admissions.

Oh BTW, when ND gets Stovall and Hayes to commit, they will have taken two of the top 8 commits from USCs class. You do realize that, don't you? Either Hayes or Juarez are #1 and Stovall was within the top 8 and maybe even 6.

Perse, I agree with your characterization of USC. Five stars who fully expect to play in the NFL expect to start and star no later than year two. Those that don't can be a disruptive influence. USC was able to keep the team playing at high levels with the vast majority of the players buying in with Carroll as the HC, and it will be interesting to see if Sark can manage this. Hope not.

A ) Learn the English language
B ) what exactly is a well coached fundamentally effort ?
C) you wouldn't know a well coached team from a donkey's ass

aren't you supposed to be helping get - the team jock straps cleaned?

and I read it as i posted it and i think reading it corrrect would help; but as I mentioned
your problem is bad genes!

(with the new OC and staff additions, maybe a well coached fundamentally sound effort; it sure as hell has been a while! 10:4 oh wait make the 8:4!

shame on BK sending you here!

The significance here is that these guys are on campus. That experience is often a game changer.

Hey IIO -- this now seemed prescient. Heard guys who visited were impressed.

Bummer about Folston -- another place were were have become thin and young. Thoughts?

Tons of truth to this. If you all had an hour, I could rattle off the 5 star players that have bombed or flat out left the USC program the past decade.

I fully expect Hayes and Vaugn to be Irish as i posted earlier. It sounds like we could also get Stovall (247 composite #3 APB in the country) and DJ Morgan (247 composite avg is the 15th best S prospect in the country). Add that to the fact that 5* athlete, D. Robertson had a home run visit and is exploring options on a return visit and you have the makings of a heck of a core to an already solid class.

It would be unreal to land all 5 of those prospects!! I don't really see it happening....but just signing half of them would be huge. How many more days/weeks do yall think it will be before we get the first commitment due to the visits at the Texas game??

October 12th (Vaughn) or 18th (Hayes) for the 1st guy to go public. Unless which I expect, DJ Morgan (Skylar Diggins cousin) drops sooner, like this week.

I'd like to see a domino effect. One takes the plunge and the rest follow lead. If ND could manage to pull this back to a Top 10 recruiting class I would be ecstatic.

Only matters to me at signiing day. Be nice to have every player ND desires in the fold earlier but as long as LOI is in is all that matters to me.Fuller,Hayes, Stovall,McKinley,Vaughn and Wole would finish a strong haul though.Stealing from UCLA and USC-PRICELESS!!!!!

Well yes....by me saying a Top 10 recruiting class I meant that as when NSD had passed and the recruiting season was over. But yes, flipping those guys would be priceless.

Oh and don't forget Demetris. He would be a huge grab.....no matter what side of the ball they chose to play him on. From Slot or some sort of hybrid back to CB or safety. He could play anywhere on the field. He has the stuff you can't teach.

Robertson posted a pic on twitter with Will Fuller and said that the coaches are wanting him to be the next Fuller. So it seems they are recruiting him at WR
