One of the big positives I see in Marcus Freeman's first two full classes is balance. It was nice always having the best 3rd string O-linemen in the country during the BK years, but I think most of us would have traded them for some better starters at other positions. Here's a comparison of the top 10 recruits and their positions by composite ranking in the combined 2023 & 2024 classes and the combined 2016 & 2017 classes.

2016/2017:
1. OT (26)
2. TE (71)
3. OT (79)
4. TE (82)
5. OG (84)
6. WR (108)
7. OT (120)
8. OLB (132)
9. DT (147)
10. OT (166)

2023/2024:
1. WR (29)
2. OT (42)
3. QB (59)
4. OT (61)
5. LB (66)
6. RB (79)
7. CB (103)
8. LB (106)
9. DL (107)
10. RB (136)
