Looks like of the 5 prime targets having been discussed only Jones and DRob are still reasonably hopeful.
C Kelly is again looking like a Sooner and JMcC is Tx and Davis is looking Bama.
But darn, last week was fun while it lasted! Now everything rides on DRob!

Not giving up on Kelly yet, and Davis was always a longshot. Heck, getting him to visit was a victory.

Tony was inherited and Cooks was established in Texas. Kelly has not emphasized recruiting in his kob resumes because he relied on those 2 guys.
I do not expect Kelly to be able to attract high profile recruiters; there seems to be a dtigma developing - not a good one. These two coaches had the respect of fellow coaches. If a huge sum of cash was suddenly to appear then that alone might work - that is less likely than Kelly puliing a rabbit out of the magical hat he doesn't have.
Can't wait till we here the back stories here.
BTW: which 2 position coaches left? which 2 positions struggles till the 11th hour? last year D struggles and the DC left.

Last I read BK is vising CK today and Stoops is visiting on Thursday. I think we have a better shot at Caleb than Perse does but I also know that OU is leading.
^ I passed along the CB info (recent flips by Loy and SW, so it stands 96% OU and 4% cloudy) I have been touting Kelly, Davis and JMcC as my wish list! that has not changed. But Kelly and staff have a tough road to hoe to land this one. They will give it their best shot; Stoops however looks like the last in home.

I'll admit I'm not 100% certain on this, it's just something I thought I read somewhere. I do recall that since Kelly started showing serious interest in ND Stoops has been calling him every day.

1. As you call him a buffoon you should note that the post Bodi pasted addresses his opinion on Kelly's relationship with assistant coaches not on his ability to recruit.

OU staff visited recently and an OU recruiting insider started saying that Stoops and staff have basically locked Kelly up after there visit even though coach BK still has his in home tonight. also read the people inside notre dame are basically saying that there still in it and that these recruiting insiders are saying things just to get subscription sells. this has become a roller coaster ride and none of us will know how it will turn out until we hear it from the horses mouth and that would be Kelly himself
^ exactly; sites try to create interest which will generate premium subscriptions. Look at this one recruitment, where CB's are flipping weekly.

Kelly, actually I do wonder! Nothing posted in this thread by Perse is "pure garbage", as you put it. Sharing info and expressing opinion about recruiting trends is what we all do, and it's of interest. Just because the trend is away from ND, that doesn't make the person posting it negative. I'm totally on board with Perse being called out when he does go off the wall like he did with the post re-posted by Bodi, but not so with this thread. Let's talk ND football, not Perse.
Perse is a good friend -- just having fun with him . He is a valuable member of this forum . He continually offers positive insightful observations like Brian Kelly is despicable . He is a good man with a searing eye for truth , justice and the american way
BTW -- Did anyone hear weather coach kelly had dinner at any of the in home visits and if so what did the mom and dad serve ? Was dessert part of the menu ?

More importantly, Caleb Kelly is trending to Oklahoma by all accounts, and our Kelly has the chance to turn this around with his in home visit today. Can't even begin to appreciate the confusion these young seventeen yr olds feel when they are truly attracted to more than one school. The familiar usually wins out in these instances, and Oklahoma is way more familiar to CK than ND with the Fresno pipeline to Oaklahoma. We tend to forget about our freshmen who either red shirt or spend the year on special teams, but we had a really good haul at LB last year. Still, CK would be a great get and hope Kelly can convince the young man that he belongs at ND.

I have started ignoring Argus for the most part but I do chase him at times. I like to think I do so in a more controlled way. I have always been confused at the desire to yell at Perse just to yell at him, I mean some of his points are valid. Also I think asking Perse to explain himself rather then calling him a d-bag is generally more effective.

I forgot, Purse still has you on retainer. I used to read this message board for awhile before I signed up---I signed up because I got tired of Purse and his anti Notre Dame rhetoric.
He starts behaving himself when he is brought up on it. If left unchecked his negativity might give the wrong impression on Notre Dame to citizens who come by to read this site.
