question for ND homers

ive read all about how ND is used to big games and raucous, Midwestern atmospheres blah blah blah, but riddle me this:

what makes you think Kizer is ready? he has never had to perform in the midst of chaos like he will face saturdee. thanks pawl, I'll take it off air.
Something tells me you said the same thing about Jameis Winston two years ago going into the beat down FSU gave y'all.

From ESPN's @McShay13: "10 of our top 150 prospects will be playing in this game on Saturday. All 10 of them will be wearing gold helmets."

Their list must be seniors only or else it is the worst list. I can think of at least 5 Tigers that are top 150 draft eligible.

But I digress. This thread started out with a focus on highlighting Kizers' child-like level of experience at the highest level of amateur athletics. Let's keep it out of the gutters going forward.

you are a complete DB. If your mother had realized how you would turn out she would have used the rusty ol coathanger on herself.

The doctor knew. When you were born he slapped your mother.

Do you wear gloves when you throw the fish?

Any more cliches dr seuss? You're really taking this to a level above your pay grade

"the highest level of amateur athletics".... huh? Where does clemson football fit in with that remark and why?

ND has had very solid success on the ground YTD, with over 200 every game.
Clemson seems to play the pass to prevent explosives, and their LB core is not great against the pass. They seem to play an aggressive attacking LB style and leave the 2nd level open to middle pass plays. Kizer is strong to the middle and the long ball, and struggles on the outs due to footwork (seems that his out patterns are thrown low).
I think Kelly and Sanford may go more to the short passing game toward the middle of the field and try to get the LBs to back off, and bring the DBs forward. That will open the running lanes and even the longer passing game. If it works, ND could be in good shape.

The key is to keep the turnovers at 2 or under for the game.

Said by someone who experiences the life of being a child every day. So I would imagine on this board you are the expert on it.

When Zaire hurt himself in the Virginia game, Kizer was immediately called by Mike Sanford. Sanford obviously asked him how he was feeling and Kizer responded, "I'm fine." He's a quiet, smart kid according to Brian Kelly. We're not talking about figgity Everett Golson here. The question you should be asking is how many INT's will Watson throw? He's looked less then great this year and might be missing Chad Morris more then Clemson fans care to admit.

i asked what would make ND fans so confident in Kizer and the closest thing to an answer I got came from a nole

my point is now proven, there is no empirical evidence supporting Kizer unless you think he has the same mental toughness/leadership as Jameis.

Didn't Clemson lose that FSU game by like 35 points? By that math, Kizer will only need to be half as good as Winston because imo, that Clemson team was as good as this year's edition.

^^^^^^ doesn't know what empirical means

Clemson is wonderful. They're a combination of the "steel curtain" and "Air Coryell". This year's magnificence is emblematic of their storied program's rich history. Their fan base is the best in CFB and is like putting 20 men on the field.

Why is ND even bothering to show up? "All Hail Clemson the greatest team in CFB history!"

Let the game play out and quit being a tool.

PS I hope some southern belle or guy kicks you in the fruit-stand on game day....

OP. You seem so fixated on Kizer, his ability and how he will handle a hostile environment. You seem to believe the QB for Notre Dame is the weak link, etc. You may be right. Even an occasional football fan would point to that line as the biggest question mark on the roster for ND.

But here is my question to you. Be honest and not a DB. Who has Clemson faced this year? How is Clemson going to react when they can't man handle their opponent and they're opponent smacks them right back in the mouth? Notre Dame is not App State or Wofford or Louisville (and they took the Tigers to the wire).

It's going to take about 5 minutes of the first quarter and Clemson will realize that this game will go four quarters. Now, I'm not saying Clemson will not come out on top. But it will require their A game, crowd or no crowd.
