ive read all about how ND is used to big games and raucous, Midwestern atmospheres blah blah blah, but riddle me this:

what makes you think Kizer is ready? he has never had to perform in the midst of chaos like he will face saturdee. thanks pawl, I'll take it off air.

guess what....it will be the same atmosphere for Watson!

DK is a kid with the temperment to handle it just fine. This is not a Golsonesque kid.
It is up to the ND defense to set the tone and not make the offense play from behind.

And remember, your Clemson - not Alabama; and it's Dabo not Saban!
You haven't reached legend status as yet.

just doing my part to put a chink in the flawed logic littering this free board.

if impact on the game was a prerequisite this board (and all boards) would be blank.

oh my. you have no idea what's gonna happen when ND has the ball, do you?

Man, you should watch one of Kizer's interviews. This kid is as cool as the back side of the pillow. No emotion...just game speak.

I remember when Clemson fans said this about Jameis two years ago.

We all saw how that went.

totally agree but Jameis had the pedigree where we knew in the back of our minds he had it in him. also ND does not have the athletes 1-85 that fsu had in 2013. unless James wilder is putting on a ND jersey so he can flex while leading the Catholics into battle, I stand by my post.

I know App State was ready for that "chaos" and rushed for 200+ yards and averaged 4.5 yards a carry, compared to 140 for Clemson. Our o line is SLIGHTLY better than App State's.

Who knows if he's ready or not. He's come through in clutch time before, but in a much different atmosphere. If Watson ready for the pressure ND's D-line will give him Saturday? We are better than Louisville, who got him rattled into 2 int's.

Is Clemson's D-line ready to face the best o line in the country?

Who knows if any of the players are ready? That's why they play the game. And we get to sit home and watch

good point. nothing compares to the stress of answering generic questions from fanboys in your own facility
One thing compares: Kizer came into the game and threw a 39 yd TD pass with 12 secs left against UVA to seal the win. That may mean nothing to you but it means everything to me.

Though Virginia is not as loud as Clemson, Kizer came into the game in a very high pressure situation and won it. That kid can play.

App state nor Wofford did a things against our 1's. Those averages came against a half in each game of backups. Which is why we are #9 in total D and not top 5. The Louisville rushing average was against all 1s

app state game was 35-0 at the half. it was also a noon kickoff. most folks will be able to squeeze in an extra Zima or two before 8

Do you want to win this game on the II message board or on the field? Talk is cheap, my friend.

What chaos? Are the normal rules for the game going to be suspended? Are Clemson fans going to storm the field during the game? Are ND players going to be pelted by objects while they are trying to run plays? Or are you just talking crowd noise?

The fact is, son, trhat Clemson has played no one. Wofford. Appalachian St. Louisville. Clemson has yet to play with the big boys.

That chaos has netted the school a massive .598 winning percentage and 1 NC (1981).

Have you won any Heisman trophies?

Do better.....

ignorance is bliss I guess

Jesus Clemson fans. Pull it together. He may be rattled. I don't know, but getting offended and lashing out via the interwebs when ND fans don't think he will is a bad look. ND fans would probably be saying the same things about Watson if we were going on the road. I don't think he would get rattled. I probably wouldn't sway the ND fans to see it that way though.

Bionic, you and most of the Clemson fans who have posted here have been good guys. But when we get folks like the OP here, they are typically treated with the disdain they deserve.

I don't get this atmosphere talk. Clemson acts like ND plays at Mac teams for away games. You telling me FSU last year wasn't rocking with the chop. ND did just fine with the crowd. If anything it may spark our team more.

you'll be hugging your encyclopedia for comfort by the end of the night
I won't be acting like a douche on Clemson's board.
Thanks for coming by with your super intelligent thoughts.
I find it fascinating that you aren't citing your incredible record of conference championships. You remind me of um fans that swing by here only I think you may be smarter....don't be to proud of that.... I am basing it off your ability to spell encyclopedia.

i asked what would make ND fans so confident in Kizer and the closest thing to an answer I got came from a nole

my point is now proven, there is no empirical evidence supporting Kizer unless you think he has the same mental toughness/leadership as Jameis.

You remind me of my friend, Tom. He mostly talks gibberish and I try to understand him. He's always happy when I laugh at what he says.

Kizer may get rattled. He may not. We'll find out on Saturday night.

I feel a raucous crowd can help, but I don't usually count that as a tangible advantage to one side or the other. Clemson fans really seem to be hanging their hat on that. Maybe I just don't understand how crazy it gets there... Good luck to your team.

We are confident in out team. Kizer is part of that team.

Let's leave Jameis out of it. I know, I brought him into it, but FSU is a sore spot on this board so I shouldn't have. It just seemed like a good comparison.

Aside from Kizer handling the pressure, Notre Dame has played well as a team. Their run game is very strong and their defense is tough as nails. If you guys can't slow down their run game, Kizer won't have to do much.

Death Valley is a very tough place to play, but I've noticed when Clemson gets down, it gets quiet real quick. If you let the Irish jump on you early, they will take the crowd out of the game.

all true points, I was isolating Kizer since his lack of experience seems to me NDs biggest question mark. I think you already saw this and some of the others in here chose to deflect with irrelevant history rather than admit it.

What's the point of a post like this? Don't be so childish and try acting like an adult.

Nice backtrack by Mr. Chaos here. Kizer will be just fine. Let's see if Clemson is up to the task of taking on the Irish.
