Pitt took the chaos button from Sparty as the team that always overachieves in the ND game.

The fact Pitt whipped Louisville, after Louisville whipped ND, should have the attention of the players. The last time ND and Pitt squared off was 2020, and ND beat them 45-3.

ND the past 5 seasons has come out flat in some of these day games at home, Ball State, Vanderbilt, Toledo, Marshall, Cal. So hopefully Marcus is cracking the whip a little bit this week. The great Lou Holtz was kind of notorious for the making the practice week, extremely challenging, on the weeks ND was playing an "inferior opponent". Go Irish

"Coming out flat" it is just a poor cliche/excuse for "the team is not good enough to dominate"

Good teams don't lose to Pitt!
2007 WVU was about to go to the BCSCG. Clemson dropped one too. After the Hurricanes swamped us in 2017, they made landfall into the Pitt and died away. Pitt went to the Orange Bowl recently.

I guess the problem is that we think of Pitt as Purdue when the Panthers were the equivalent of Auburn just a couple generations ago.

We did have a lot of those.

2022 Georgia barely beat a weak Missouri team last year and they were not a good team, but a great team. I certainly don’t think ND is a great team, but great teams can still come out “flat.”

ND might get a slap in the face early, and hopefully it will wake them up. Week off, big win over USC, coaching talking about a pee wee league and next years transfer situation, the beard is gone. Hopefully the OC and DC are locked in, and the position coaches. ND should hammer them, but if they think they should win just by walking on the field, it will be a 4 quarter game.
