It has taken Kelly six plus years to get the ND program where he wanted. This covers a wide area of improvements from training to facilities to recruitment to academic support, to relationship with the administration, etc... and we are seeing the results on the field. We finally have athletic talent and speed and size and depth, and our ability to win despite numerous critical injuries all point to a sustainable program. Kelly is in position to enjoy the fruits of his labor, and I don't see him leaving until he retires, which I suspect will be upon completion of year ten. Neither UGA or USC would represent a step backwards from a football coaching resume perspective, but ND is the pinnacle for a Carholic Irish football coach from Boston.
