Kind of.....I think he outcoached himself with puliing the best player on the team for two seriesThis guy better not slam these players. If they were playing for coach Shaw they'd have won.
I think Kizer played poorly for a stretch and he has a tendency to hang in the pocket too long. He still won't check a ball down to a running back, something he better learn if he's ever going to play NFL football.
This is DK's biggest problem, IMO. Not every pass has to be 20-30 yards. Sometime a 4-5 yard pass will work. Of course it does depend on the play called.
just will say this...how the eff do you lose to a mediocre team w/out their best player at home?
Stop....I think it was both. ND came out with a great game plan, similar to last year at Stanford, and ran the ball down the Cardinal's throat. Pistol was working early for ND and they should not have gotten away from it. Defensively, I don't think ND was outcoached at all. I think their kids played like warriors. Remember, 9 of the 17 Stanford points were given up by the ND offense.

Stanford certainly made better half time adjustments, and Solomon Thomas and Jarron Jones were the two best players on the field for most of the night.

The horse shit spinning of the BK apologists will never cease.Great points, especially about Kizer. He seems to have high confidence in OL so he does stay longer than ideal on some plays.
ND offense: 10 points
Stanford offense: 8 points
Stanford defense: 9 points
Stop....
As much as I plead for the defense to improve...and while it's wasn't swiss cheese tonight...
Please remember Stanford drove the ball most of the night on our defense.
It was turnovers, a clank off the upright, that put a different perspective on this game.
We DID NOT STOP Stanford
Sorry, but ALL of Kelly's teams have been painful to watch! Sure, he's won his fair share of games, but it's with a sissy-finesse offense. NO self-respecting ND fan would or should accept that!Painful to watch.........ugh.
Against that team this year...starting tail back out...You think that a defense that allowed 8 points (11 had the field goal gone through) today was outcoached? Give me a break. Look across the country at how many quality defenses gave up considerably more than 8 points today.... Each week since VanGorder's dismissal a defenses featuring a rotation of 8 freshman has played well enough to win. They'be surrendered a combined 11 points in two weeks and lost both games. 5.5 points allowed over 2 games and we're going to complain about the friggen defense? Kids are getting better on that side of the ball each week. Are we going to be the 85 Bears overnight after 3 years under VanGorder? No. But you can't complain about the job Mike Elston and Greg have done since taking over. They've been in charge for 3 weeks. In that time they've surrendered 51 points. 17 PPG is respectable given where ND was.
Blame the coaches all you want. Blame the offense all you want... The defense caused 3 turnovers tonight and registered more sacks in one game than it had in the entire season combined before tonight. They did their job.
