A Legend at ND home games is retiring after 55 years of safety tips....

I always thought he was on tape the last few years. Anyway, why don't they keep the thing going? Officer Tim can tape a bunch in reserve and even use all the ones he wrote over the past 55 years and put those on tape. No one would ever remember. I'm at all the home games anyway so now is as good as time as any to volunteer my services for the job.

Gameday is a tradition. And since he is part of it, that is not allowed to change. Which means he isn't allowed to leave.

I have to nearly every home game since 1976. I am going to miss his safety tips at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Hopefully somehow ND will find a way to carry on the tradition. God Bless Tim McCarthy.

I thought his best safety message was "Put in Redfield!"
