Hard to stomach sometimes when we can't put away very average teams like Temple!! Undefeated playing an FCS schedule! We should clearly handle a team that maybe 2 or 3 players on Temple would see playing time for ND!!

Temple is actually a good team, and you should seriously consider learning a little more about football before you post again.
Temple almost lost to Umass. You can say it until you're blue in the face but ND won't get any credit for this win. Even Kelly would tell you his team needed a way better performance against temple.
DK won this game. Just think about it sports fans, just a few months ago he was 3rd team. DKs long TD run today almost reminded me of Tony Rice and his long run against USC in '88. Come on. The Irish beat an undefeated team at their place. I will say that this officiating crew had some unreal calls. The Nick Martin pass interference call. The pass interference call on our TE who was running out and was bumped into by a defender before the ball was in the air. Then, the second pick by DK was clear pass interference. All in all, the lads beat Temple and I'll take it.
vs. #21, on the road. Biggest game in Temple history. Temple 100% was going to come out and play a great game. This was not going to be a blow out.

Is it Turn over or Turn Your Head From Going Up Your Arse ! and the other person who thinks this is not a good win on the road where we got homered bad by the refs. Unless you understand football you should be commenting. Not sure what game you were watching - but ND overcame extremely bad calls. The refs were doing all they could to keep Temple in the game and they succeeded to in making it a close game.

This argument looks like right out of Charlie years. Too many use to defend him back then with these kind of comments. You don't think anyone playing Bama, LSU that its their Superbowl? yet you don't typically see those teams fold to Syracuse, temple, navy, Pitt of the world (or equivalent thereof that they play).

I realize the irish should win every game by 55 . thats not realistic either. how many robot programs out there never lose and win the way some goofball fans want them to. Watch the stanford game right now, Stanford may come back and win and possibly win by 4 td's but its a game wsu is ready for and stanford is stunned by. Temple was ready we did what we had to. Spot on Ski - it is amazing what some of these posters are watching - they are not ND fans and really cannot wait until we lose again. And the sad thing is - they just do not really understand the game of football. They are probably soccer fans.
not by 55 but how about by two touchdowns? Upsets happen but they seem to happen to us with greater frequency.
Temple is better than they were in the past. BUT without the 2 turnovers in the red zone from a young qb who is still trying to learn his way to being a vet seasoned college qb. this game is 38-20 or worse 32-20. I will take the win and move on. ND made Temple's yr. they got college game day to come to the game and they got alot of exposure they normally wouldn't get. plus the refs were doing everything they could to pull that win out for Temple in my IMO. some of those calls were really questionable.
This i can agree with. He will be still out there fightin' though with a glum face singing his alma mater after the loss with his signature mucus dripping from his right nostril.

Hey this isn't dungeon's and dragons this is a real game played on an actual field. you don't just roll the dice and the highest number wins. they actually have to exert themselves on the field. things happen when there is actual physical competition and the other team is trying to make its season by winning this one game.
That's what stood out to me. They were disciplined and as soon as we committed they seemed to have defenders coming from everywhere to the ball.
I will say if you want to criticize a unit, our defense is just plain bad. Russell played a terrible game until he woke up on Temple's last drive and made that great interception, but before that, he was caught sleeping numerous times, not looking for the ball or running past plays..
Not sure what game you watched but Temple is a good team.
I was not one of those who said everyone will be better this week because of the disparity in talent or acted like we would dominate matter of fact.
Kizer threw two interceptions in the red zone. That is six points minimum wasted and potentially ten points as one was on third down if he throws it away we get a FG.
But ...temple is a tough team. They play hard.
Notice how Herbstreit said near the beginning of the game do you really want to line up man for man against Notre Dame. Yep..they did. As the game went along he and Fowler both started saying these guys can play.
Question...would you trade the temple secondary for ours? I would. Especially because they all tackle something our team as a whole is challenged with.
Ya know....say what u want about Paterno but when he was in his prime no team on earth tackled as good as his teams. Penn state from 1965-1995 tackled better than any program and its really no comparison.
Well temple coach ruelle has said many times he is going to coach like paterno.
I have to tell you....that was by far the best tackling team Notre Dame has faced all year. If it's one on one in open field you are getting tackled. It was a huge joy to watch someone actually stressing and spending time on tackling. Apparently a lost art in football today.
If that coach sticks with temple, or better put if temple holds onto that coach he is making a power program out of temple. Will he remain there? Who knows but he has something really cool going on there.
and what good team has Temple beat? They have a couple of good player and a lot of MAC level players!! There is a reason they go to Temple. Maybe you should learn a little bit about football?
Penn State is average at best!! PSU schedule is easier than Temple and got hammered by the OSU.

No 'we' didn't. I have every belief there was nothing you or I did this weekend that had any outcome at all on the results on the field.
