Okwara never had his head or heart into this season. 4 total sacks and how many were against UVA? Wish him well but as some noted on the podcast he's pulled a TUITT. It's really too bad because he could have been and should have been far more dominant. Excited to see some young blood or new rotation.

Tough break for the kid, but yup next man in, we got games to play. He did seem fairly absent this year, I wish him well

We’ve still got good depth at the position despite losing Okwara and Hayes. Will be interesting to see how they rotate Foskey in now.

We're fine with Jamir Jones and Khalid Kareem starting and Ade playing lots of reps. How Isaiah Foskey or Justin Ademilola play as the the #2 Drop will go a long way towards determinining if ND goes 10-2 or winds up as bad as 8-4.

Tough injury. This is why depth is so damn important along your lines...

We essentially have our two best OL and 2 of our 3 best DL out for the year. That's very hard to sustain for an extended period of time.

I expect Jamir, Ademiloa and Ovie to rotate at drop. They can still preserve a year for Foskey. If they take the redshirt off him, interesting how they split the reps among those 4

Everyone except Jamir is a significant step down from Julian, but as long as they aren't asked to take too many reps, they should be fine.

Good reps and experience for next year. I feel bad for Julian but this will help us next yr

wow!

Nd will probably end up being a bit better against the run playing bigger ends but need to blitz a little more to create pressure.

Some of you guys really have no heart at all. "He never had his head or his heart in this season." -- thank you Sigmund Freud. The kid has given his career to Notre Dame. Was instrumental in our 12-0 season, and played hard this year when we are having another good season. He was instrumental in getting us a win vs Virginia and played well vs. Georgia.

He was being projected as a possible first rounder -- and now that will be in question because of injury. No, that's sad, that's terrible, what a shame, good luck to the kid...

You say crap just to make yourselves feel better.

Don't listen to them, Julian. Congratulations for all you've done at ND. Congrats on your degree at one of the best colleges in the world! Congrats for being part of one of the few ND teams to go undefeated. This fellow alum says thanks and best of luck.

Kind of fun that you think he is reading this

He played himself well out of being a first round pick before the injury. He took a major step back, he just did. Nothing personal against the guy.

Not what draft experts were saying. This from an article from last week in 247:

Pro Football Focus College Football Analyst Mike Renner released his latest 2020 NFL Mock Draft on Wednesday. The staff added that this isn't a look at what they think will happen necessarily, but rather how they would draft if they were running the show for each NFL franchise.

Notre Dame has one player listed in the Top 32 picks, one first-rounder, and as expected, that is defensive end Julian Okwara. The mock draft has him going No. 29 overall to the Baltimore Ravens.

I've seen him projected between the early and 20's and late 20's of the draft, but and injury can change all of that. He basically has 4 months to recover and get himself ready for the combine. He'll need to show out there, run well and put up big strength numbers to regroup from the lost stock attributed to him being out injured.

This is crap; no sympathy at all in you, is there? Pretty selfish comment.

I haven’t seen him in the first round in any mock drafts I’ve seen since about September.

we have to wait for the combine?

no discussion of the D missing D Hayes?

The injury is no big deal for his future. Just his present. He will still be a Late first round early second round guy.

thats speculation. had he not gotten injured who knows ? unfortunately for him his injury will impact his combine efforts. a healthy Okwara would have likely killed it there. he'll still make buckets of money if he does slip to day two.

relying purely on sack numbers is short sighted.
