Officially Official Sugar Bowl ND v. UGA Game Thread

Halftime adjustments:

Offense:
Must convert 3rd downs!
Denbrock if it's short, run the ball!
No more screens on 3rd down
Find a way to get Love and price the ball in space. Maybe run the option.
Give Knapp help with long passing plays.
Keep running RL.

Defense:
No penalties (looking at you Gray and Young)
Keep doing what you're doing

Special Teams:
Again no penalties (Young)
Keep doing what you're doing

Under The Dome board:
Stop being so damn negative! We up by 10 and we get the ball back! Let's go and win this son of a bitch!

Then WHY isn’t that huge talent advantage manifesting itself by Georgia running away with this football game?
I think i answered this question already in the last page or two when you asked it:

Coaching, scheme, player development, 2-0 turnover margin, and good fortune all going NDs way.

You need ALL of these things in order to negate a big talent gap which is why its better to just recruit a better 85 man roster so there's more margin for error in your games.

The key to converting third downs is getting good yardage on 1st and 2nd downs !

ND struggled 1st qtr and fortunate GA didn't capitalize. Never mind being up 13-3!!!

Big difference in grit and character from the teams after Holtz.

MF factor...come on, keep it up! All game discipline and progressive improvement.

Denbrock most of all needs to call a better game...every point counts...help an amazing D win the game with enough points.

Well called RL running plays will be key...again, that is how GA Tech stretch the Dawgs.

I could be wrong...but I'm thinking in spite of injuries and loss of mass on DL, ND has compensating speed and athleticism.

It worked for Saban a few years at Alabama, opting for that over raw size.

Of course, we have an entire half to test this theory out...but so far the D is holding up eminently...making up for Mills with, as MF said, scheme, coordination, and speed.

“Good fortune”

Do you mean like a Notre Dame defensive player making a great play by beating his man and getting to the quarterback.

You call that “good fortune” ?
Intelligent people call it great play by the defensive players

You’re a tool, and that’s giving you a lot of credit

I agree
Let’s hope they continue with that play in the second half
But the offense still needs to put more points on the board

You're right!

But we're all tired of the bull shit narrative.

Nd is stocked with talent

Yes the Irish are talented across the board, more so than anytime since Holtz.

My only concern was character and composure...given that time since Holtz.

ND has really narrowed the gap, maybe even with some of the top 4...only Ohio State now stands out.

Just keep it up 1 more half...an opening score would be killer, even a FG!

Charlie Weis/early-era BK had more talent than this 2024 roster.

What ND has is better coaching and player development.

Again, TALENT and PRODUCTION are distinct components to football.

Indiana is a more extreme of this example. They had the 57th ranked 85 man roster in the country, but a top 10 F+ rating. Despite being woefully out-talented they get more out of their players than anybody else in the country.

Notre Dame has a #9 talent ranking, and a #4 F+ rating.

Georgia has the #2 talent ranking, but #7 F+ rating (Kirby Smart isn't having a typically great year)

Should be a bar open around the corner!
I hate watching ND football at bars (i get annoyed by all the distractions when im trying to concentrate/focus on the action)

when it comes to other sports/teams i prefer the bar environment, especially when there are babes around lol

And Georgia has THREE first rounders in this year's NFL draft. All on D. Protect the ball.
