Q. You're in this situation. I know you're supporting Brian VanGorder 100 percent. But you mentioned getting fundamentals right, getting teaching right. As the head coach, do you feel compelled to kind of shift your emphasis, your time, over to the other side of the ball while it's in this state?
COACH Porky: Well, I have to be able to know that everything in the program is being taught, being effectively communicated on a day-to-day basis. So physically, does that mean on the practice field I have to stand on the defensive practice field to get that done? No, it doesn't mean that. What it means is that I have to be in defensive meetings. It means that I have to be aware of what the game plan is. It means that I have to know how we're teaching things and communicating them, which I do.
So I don't need a headset. I don't need to be on the defensive side of the ball coaching tackling. I'm very confident that I've got good coaches to do that, but I'm the head coach, and I'd better be certain that I know exactly what's going on in all facets of my program -- offense, defense, special teams, recruiting, all of those things. But from an optic standpoint, I don't need to be standing on the defensive end of the field to make sure that gets done.

Past history (the last 3 years mostly), coupled with ND's defense. ND has a habit of turning middling QBs into Heisman contenders in 4 short quarters.
watched highlights of the Duke games. ND's WR's will get open and DK will throw deep on Duke.
Claypool will likely go in as TE/WR since the other TE's at TE U have proven ineffective.

4 top 20 teams are losers this weekend, so the W over Duke will possibly move ND into the Top 25.

I am expecting great things this week. The defense has come to the defense (no pun intended) of BVG and should be fired up. The young secondary are facing a talented QB and WR group so we need to put pressure on the QB.
Offensively, this should be another Nevada walk-over without the mistakes. The team should be prepared and motivated. I see a 52-6 score.
However, if this game is close and the team is undisciplined, unprepared and not motivated...it is another sign Kelly and Co. needs to go.

Should have done this against MSU earlier and towards the end. Kelly seems to hold back at wrong times. How will it be different today?
After watching this first half shit show one thing is certain. Anyone who tries to defend Kelly is making a huge mistake. From BVG, to rotating QBs to horrible all around play this is a very bad team. It is past the point of pathetic. Fire EVERYONE, From The Administration on down. Good God.
My only mistake in my prediction is that I did not allocate enough pts.

Otherwise - Cutliffe has a great game plan working pretty good with his freshman QB and like in a lot games the other team is playing with more emotion / sense of urgency.
Cutliffe is a great coach.
BK - a nice average coach
ND talent level - top 15 recruiting classes - 3 and 4 star level players.
Duke talent level - 2 and 3 star level players.
Completely out coached.
Kinda like The Tulsa game. Or South Florida. Or Northwestern. As Kelly said after Tulsa, " The fans had better get used to it." He was correct. And we have.
I think the defense was better before Kelly got involved. 28 pts. to Duke? Leave BVG alone. He wasn't this bad on his own. Now Kelly has The Offense AND Defense totally confused. I am now at the point I was at in the Davie years. Pull for the other team in hopes of terrible seasons and coaching changes. I hate Mike Wadsworth and Monk Malloy. They killed this program. Turds.
Not happy I picked the winner. But happy Kelly is exposed for supporting bvg and his own incompetence. Kelly has lost this team.
