The Irish have an almost perfect schedule for a playoff run. I am thinking Notre Dame has a better offense than 2015 and a better defense assuming Elko is better than BVG. The Irish don't have to play Florida State or Clemson this year. And Georgia is just an average team who lost to Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech last year and we have them at home--- They were an 8 and 5 team and should have lost to Nicholls State. We have USC at home and there defense sucks---they lost some studs and their coaching is supect--We should beat them. Stanford will be a good game on the road to finish the season and we should have beat them in 15. I think Elko will be the difference and our offense puts up plenty to beat them.

Temple to start at home Blow out W.

Georgia (8 and 5) home--close W
At BC---We have beat them 6 times in a row -Blowout--W
At Michigan State----Will be exciting rivalry game---close W.
Miami Ohio at home---Blow out win. Starters rested for NC
At North Carolina-----W
Off---rest up for biggest game of year.
USC at home---- Classic offensive battle--- W 48 to 41.
North Carolina State at home----W
Wake Forest at home----blow out win.
At Miami Fla---------Win--THIS IS NOT THE MIAMI OF OLD !!!
Navy at Home----Navy is usually pretty beat up this late in the season---- Elko has the D playing their reponsibilitis---Irish Offense scores at will-----A blow out victory 59 to 28.

At Stanford for a shot at the playoffs !! Close win Aliz'e Mack scores game winning TD on last play !! 28 to 25 !! The Irish are going to the playoffs !!!
Even if the Irish lose 1 game they will go to the playoffs due to playing so many good teams.
The point is !! Is that the schedule is not that difficult if you have a great team ! If your team sucks then the schedule is very tough !!
This is the most talented and experienced offense the Irish have had in a very long time !! And to my eyes I really don't see any top teams that the Irish play. I see USC and Stanford as maybe top 15 teams when all is said and done. Stanford seems to have been slipping just a bit. And USC has been beatable since Carrol left.

I think playing Michigan State at their house will be a good game and maybe at Miami could be pretty good.
But if the Irish are as good as I think they will be especially on offense the Irish should be averaging 40 plus and putting games away late with the running game ..

Go Irish !! Beat Temple !!

Every year our SOS by year's end is radically different than preseason assessment. Just really hard to know which teams will surprise to the upside and to the downside. USC and Stanford and Miami and Georgia are probably all favored against ND in pre season polling. We need to take care of business against Temple, and then show up in a good win against Georgia, and then the talking heads will start taking notice. Damn, a 6-0 record going into the USC game with a huge national audience, and walking out with a good win would be phenomenal. Hope your crystal ball is clearer than mine! Beat Temple!

After last year, I'm really concerned about Temple. And, there's always these past games to remind me of Kelly's tenure. South Florida, Tulsa, North Western, Navy X2, Duke, North Carolina St.

I hope this season is more like 2012 without the ending.

Bod,
I have to respectfully disagree, while ND does avoid ACC powers FSU and Clemson, Georgia, USC will be difficult but the only saving grace is their home games. SC's QB is a legit Heisman contender, and The Trojans are a dark horse to win the playoffs. Stanford is an away game and like a previous poster mentioned BK has never won at Stanford. Miami will be rolling come November, Mark Richt is a better coach than BK in every way.

8-4 at best, this was a 4 win team a year ago, with an inexperienced QB, anything better BK is coach of the year.

I have this feeling that ND blows out Georgia. just a gut . On the other hand , I am very concerned about MSU , NC and Miami . These 3 games are all on the road and will all be really tough games. USC and Stanford will be crazy games as always. For ND to win out , The Offense has to become a great running team and the RZ opportunities need to get better. Defensively ND will be ok but can wear down with this schedule if they are on the field too much. Run the ball control the LOS and don't become pass happy.

Re: "Even if the Irish lose 1 game they will go to the playoffs due to playing so many good teams." (just contradicted yourself)

Seriously doubt it. Conference Champions all play an extra big time Championship game. That shuts out one loss teams with less wins over all.

At the start of the season, I am always very optimistic, but I still like to only take it one game at a time.
Win , they look to the next game ! Love our prospects for the season, but Kelly has a way of doing
Some very odd things, and that must be always taken into account !

Maybe it is just my nature, but after last year's debacle, I am concerned about every game. Bodi, you may be right, but I don't believe GA is an average team. They are picked to win the East Division of the SEC. Yes they lost to Vandy and GA Tech, but look at what we did last year. Their D comes back intact. Offensively, they are a rushing juggernaut. Our biggest ? is can we stop the run. My hope is that we can score and force them out of the ability to line up and run it down our throats. But again, my nature, let's just start out 1-0 first. Go Irish!

I respectfully disagree. ND has a very tough tough schedule. And ND has a brand new qb. He will not just come in and dominate You have a new dc. so first year growing pains will occur. Just like the sc problems on d in the first half of last year. By the end of the year, this nd team could gel. But not in the first half of the year.

Temple-nd out talents them. win by 28

Georgia- returns almost everyone form a year ago. This is one of the most talented teams in the nation. Richt was a very good recruiter, but just an above average coach. They have a great qb and their defense is loaded with nfl players. The state of Georgia is loaded with talent. This is the second year in the system. First year with a new coach always has huge growing pains. I have Georgia as a potential playoff contender. UGA wins this, but it will be close.

At BC- they return everybody. Adazzio is a solid coach. Close game. ND win. But I could see nd losing too. Sc went to bc a few ago and lost by 6. and we had much more talent than them. It happens.

at msu-msu is a freshman and soph team. nd by 20

miami oh big win for nd

at nc- they lost their great qb and some great skill guys. nd win

usc -pick em. sc has more talent. sc has a much better qb and a better first string. a lot of nfl guys in the 1st string. but sc is still not deep after the sanctions. our depth is young. we have have no depth at DT and LB. I do love your rb, te and OL. Not quite as impressed with the nd defense as it is a new system. And you have a new qb. But this in nd. Pick em game. I WILL SAY WHICHEVER TEAM IS MORE HEALTHY COMING INTO THIS GAME WILL WIN. If usc is very healthy they will win. We are in the the second year of the new system. The team has come a long way. Still, this is a tight game. If I had to pick it I say sc by 1. But if sc has injuries we lose by 17.

nc state at home- nc state returns everyone from a pretty good. team. close win for nd. revenge factor.

wf- easy win for nd

at Miami- close win for nd as they lost their qb

navy- nd by 24

at Stanford- stanford returns almost everyone except mccaffrey. they are pretty talented too and have two fifth year senior qb's. they are pretty deep and experienced overall. close stanford win. stanford is is a team that does very well against nd and usc when they are at home. stanford by 3.

So I see nd at 9-3 going into the bowl, but they could lose 4 as I think people are underestimating bc, nc state and stanford. and you really only have about 2 totally easy wins in wake and temple. many of the other teams are legit programs that can give you problems on any given day. If those go really well I could see you at 10-2, but nd has a very tough schedule even though you play a lot of good teams at home.

Smart is in his 2nd year, ND is going to find out if he learned about the process from Saban. It could wind up like one of those early season Bama neutral site games where they set a program back 5 years.

While we were wailing, Miami seems to have showed signs of life. Put them in the tossup category along with USC/LSJU.

true. I cant tell is if smart is a great coach or an average one. but he is a great dc and he has talent on d. so I have uga in this game. but a very close one that could go either way.

MSU/ND game will be interesting. If ND is 3-0, the Irish could be close to a top 10 ranking.

MSU plays two MAC schools, a BYE week, and then ND. Not sure what to think about that. I think having the BYE isn't necessarily a good thing for MSU but it's an extra week to get ready for a tough stretch that includes ND, Iowa, and then @Mich in consecutive weeks.

However, this MSU team is year away from being really good. Our secondary is a major issue and I expect ND to be able to have it's way with us through the air for the most part. Our ground game should work well enough to keep it close but without winning the turnover battle or a bug special teams play this MSU team won't quite have enough unless our passing game is better than I expect.

the bye will help them, but I think they are you too young. nd has a great ol, rb and te. you should be able to run on them. and they have never had a truly dynamic offense anyway. it is at msu so I say nd by 14. if it was at nd I would say more a 21 or 28.

I just don't get the hyperbole around Georgia. Yes, they are a good team and they have talented players, but it feels like people just assume because they are SEC they are going to dominate. Don't see it. You can have 2 great runners and a good QB all you want, but if the line is struggling to below average, that limits what the skills players can do. Have to win the trenches. UGA will be our strength versus their strength and our potential weakness against their weakness.

I agree somewhat. in some yrs. uga is a bit overrated. especially under richt. but this is probably their most talented team in a long time. their defense is more talented than nd's offense. they are a veteran defense and nd has a new qb. kirby smart is great at coaching defense. conversely nd has a decent defense but you have a new system and with that you usually will have some growing pains. look at the amount of pro prospects on their team. they just happen to be really stacked this year. their qb was about the best in the nation coming out hs as well.

We need to Thank Gary "Dewars" Moeller for his booze soaked analysis of ND's upcoming season.

You wanted him fired last year. Does it hurt straddling the fence?

You are a pea brain. You called Rahm Emanuel the Governor of Chicago for Gods sake. How can you be a governor of a city. Lol.
You also spell Penicks name wrong. What Irish fan misspells a Notre Dames players name on their profile? Only you.
I am a Notre Dame fan and as a Notre Dame fan I am not satisfied with all the losses Coach Kelly has had as coach. I root for him to win but we need a new coach if he can't accomplish that.
Your nose is so far up Kellys butt it isn't funny. I think you must be his mistress;)

You are the board nitwit. Every year ND is going to go undefeated and win the National Championship.
Stop posting in colors. Are you 6 years old? Let purs do that.

He does raise a good question though--why do you spell Penick's name wrong? That is pretty funny; he is important enough to you to have his name in your profile, but then you go and misspell it. :p
