There are valid points to make on both sides. I think there are different ways to effectively run the ball. 2 tight ends, power I, pro set or spread them out and create seams. I think my overall point was this. ND has a greater chance to win if they control the game by running more than passing. 60/40 Run/pass ratio would be ideal. I think if you look up stats through the years, you would see that whenever the Irish ran at a higher rate , they usually win. Even during the Brian Kelly era, his best years are when they have a good running game. Stanford plays a style that works for them. Have they won a NC? No. But if you compare their program to NDs during the Kelly era, you would have to admit they have had more overall succcess. Maybe Kelly has turned the corner as a coach. Another 10 plus win season would really help the Irish program. Win only 8 and it looks like more of the same. This is a pivotal year. I personally believe if they can get to the 10 win mark, it will dramatically change the projectory from flat line to climbing upward. As usual, this just my humble opinion. I always welcome other points of view. Go Irish!!
