This team just does not "HAVE IT" the way they did the previous two years!

Agreed. This team is no where close to our teams from the past 2 years.

Too many unforced errors on offense, defense is good at times, but too often leaves players open in critical times, goalie is good at times but not constantly good.

I was hoping they'd come back and beat Syracuse today ... but it wasn't to be.

Before we can even concern ourselves with anyone on the bottom half of the bracket; it looks like we are going to have to contend with the best goalie in the nation ("Big Tasty" Fyock) in the round of 16; and the likely Tewaaraton Award recipient [Kirst] in the semis!!

Irish played their best game of the season today...

Won every facet of the game (including the goalie battle over a 1st-Team AA) en route to smacking a very good Ohio State team, 15-6!!

If the version of Notre Dame from today shows up during the remainder of May; then I might just need to eat a plate of crow for doubting them!

I looked back at the schedule, and we have some good reason for optimism. We had two 1-point losses early in the season, and then we rattled off a string of victories including blowout wins over ranked teams. Our kryptonite seems to be Syracuse. They really have our number with two convincing wins over the Irish later in the season. The Orange are on the other side of the bracket, so hopefully we can keep the form we showed today and get favorable matchups all the way through. Go Irish!

When you don’t play on the team or coach the team you can concern yourself with anyone.

In this particular case; I even commented (scroll up three posts) about this being their best performance of the year; and embraced the idea of them making me eat my words!
