Notre Dame football – Fire to the Sam Hartman leaving smoke?

I won't play along with your childish response. Which, you're famous for.

But, that explanation is your opinion. Not a consensus.
Great response when you don't really have a response.

You can keep telling yourself that the OC situation was handled in the utmost professionally aggressive and thorough way possible all you want but countless of sources say otherwise. Apparently their articles were just game playing opinions as well.

But...

that leads us to this little fact.

The OC position at ND is NOT a prestigious one and highly sought after. It's not a most coveted position that's for sure.

You can believe all the damage control horseshit you want and just like responding to my "game playing post" it's because you can't help yourself.

"Interesting fact I saw somewhere recently .. every oc hire for like the last 6-7 have had 1 year or less as an oc when hired by ND...."

One or two...ok..

But the last 6 or 7?

That's 101% by design and shows just how much, or rather little, ND stresses the importance into that coordinator position.

BTW...it's 2023. People notice. Important ones like...say...recruits. Perhaps you still think "if ND builds it they'll come" but it's not a good look. ADJS asking for donations in his damage control response, serious or sarcastic, is not a good look.
It really isn't!!!

Yawn.

Yep.

He who yells loudest and longest wins, regardless if they're right or not.

That's their mantra.
MF deserves his right to fail or succeed; let not condemn him before he has had that chance. This is his opportunity, Give him support! As comprised, all these new coaches and players: as Norman Dale said, “this is your team”.

Or, could that be coach specific and not school administration specific?

Outside of Rees (who Freeman let have the reigns), Freeman appears to be letting the OC have control of the offense based on how Freeman envisions it.

We all know Kelly had his paw prints all over the offense, regardless of who the OC was. Same can probably be said for Weis as well.

Hell, look at Ohio State -- until this year (well, TBD), Ryan Day was the de facto OC (yes, there were OC's by title, but we all knew Day called the shots) -- I am sure there are many schools similar as well.

Actually Freeman had to allow Rees to do his thing. ADJS said so!

That said...
I'll concede to a point.

If Day was really the OC in disguise then so was Brian Kelly which I've said for a dozen years.
The OC's come and go just all calling the same Brian Kelly bullshit and philosophy. Timid and tentative.

Regardless...
I can understand allowing a coach to assemble his own staff but let's be real...
If you were approached by ADJS and he said go after whomever you want...
You'd promote the tight end coach?

COME ON!!!

ADJS is not doing that

You can buy all the Tomlinesque horseshit Feeeman wants to spew but come on brotha...

"Freeman appears to be letting the OC have control of the offense based on how Freeman envisions it."

Based on what vision exactly? Please tell me what example the TE coach lay beneath Freeman for him to observe that said...YES, this is the offense I want.

The new OC might be amazing as I'm not a believer in automatics with coaching. (Saban was the suck at several places before it finally clicked)

But I don't believe Freeman has this incredible offensive philosophical vision that the TE coach DIDN'T show him.

Did Freeman say here is what I want you to run.
He probably said whatever you want, sir.

Kevin Wilson was hired by Urban and had more of an OC role in the game plan and play calling under Urban than Day. When Day took over as the HC, he also took over play calling responsibilities as well. Even now, after he named Hartline as the new OC, he has not fully delegated that off yet -- he is taking a wait and see approach to see how Hartline develops.

And I agree -- regardless of who was calling plays once Kelly gave it up, the game was going to go as Kelly wanted it --

What is Freeman's vision for the offense? -- besides being "balanced" and wanting to be dominant on the OL, not sure he has really spelled that out publically (not that he needs to anyway) -- as for what was discussed in the interviews -- neither you nor I have a clue as to what was discussed -- the results of those discussion will be seen in the fall.

With your changing the title of the thread to a rumor (of yours) about Hartman leaving, aren't you feeling a bit like a horse's ass at this point?

You're sure looking like one.
