I like how NDs own fans will talk about ND like they are some indie garage band in college football instead of the epically wealthy monstrosity that they have become.

If you are the 5th wealthiest program in the sport, you should be recruiting at least top 5 talent in the sport IMO

Alabama seems to do ok not being in the top 9 here.

poor ND only worth 1.293 billion dollars off the backs of their athletes but having extreme difficulty supporting HS talent with millions (literal chump change) in NIL guarantees lol

Alabama being absent from the top 9 surprised me. During the Saban era they were bringing in annual revenues higher than anybody ... i think what did them in is having to share the wealth with all of those teams in the SEC.

Without a WSJ membership I can't really read the criteria being used to quantify these program's "enterprise value" (i just copied and pasted the list off of an X.com post)

If anybody with a membership wants to share more information about the article please do.

ChaseDoesn'tHaveAnyBalls has no issue letting us know what penny pinchers Notre Dame is when it comes the football program and how they should be spending their money, yet he himself can't spring for a Wall Street Journal subscription. The hypocrisy of it all. what a complete tool.

Maybe if he read the WSJ, he would actually educate himself on business, finance, economics, and investing instead of making moronic posts on a forum.

You complain about recruiting but did they not get to the championship? Ok they lost. But the players they have are good enough to get there. Do they need to get better in some areas ? Yes. But the players they recruited just ran the “ gauntlet “ and made to the step below the summit. Then again I do realize you like “ stir the pot “ so to speak. I’m cool with that. Keeps things interesting. lol. Go Irish !!

I'm not trying to stir the pot at all I'm trying to point out the overwhelming evidence that the talent at Notre Dame needs to get better

To be national champion? Yes I agree with your statement. I will add this. The areas I think they need to get better is QB. RL was a warrior. But you need to get better. Need some speed at the WR position. Finally, need size along the interior defensive line. They aren’t that far off. This year showed they can play with anyone.

This article is saying how these university football programs would be valued if they were private enterprises that could be sold
I understand the nature of the article and valuation...where we diverge is your belief that this valuation should be martialed in the direction of recruiting and paying players...mine is in the direction of adding academic value to the experiences those players have in the classroom, a la Ivy League
