Not ONE thread about BC.........???

What you are referring to is..

DONT THROW INTO DOUBLE OR TRIPLE coverage. DONT TRY TO BE A HERO. That's about it.

At no point do the Bama coaches say please make sure you play scared to make a mistake and short Hop half your throws. Make sure you play very indecisive.

No, Bama coaches aren't preaching that

ND coaches aren't telling the QB to "play scared". He is a first year starter and he is playing like a first year starter. You have been spoiled by the remarkable play of Kizer from when he stepped in. Kizer's play is what was unusual; NOT that of Wimbush.

I said no such thing. You said Bama has been telling their QB not to lose and tried to compare that of Wimbush play.

I simply pointed out the difference between don't lose the game and just playing terrified to make a mistake, get hit hard, something.

Huge difference.

I'm not putting the loss on Wimbush but I also can't say he contributed to our success either nor can you. You want to excuse his play with inexperience and I disagree because my criticism of his play has to do with his accuracy and short hopping throws. Not stepping into them. You short hop a throw because you didn't step into it.

Why he did that nobody knows but him. Was he afraid of getting hit after his release? Was he afraid of it getting intercepted? That's about it. There really isn't option three...unless his accuracy is really that piss poor. Which I'll give him the benefit of the doubt he is more accurate than that.

88 ND............

Re: "A couple of picks on bad reeds is excusable on the experience factor. Playing scared to death is not...which is exactly how he played. Played afraid to fail. If you play that way you'll never win."

I think you may have hit the nail on the head. While Wimbush played scared, Fromm was exactly the opposite. Although he is a true freshman, Fromm is also a true athlete. He has won enough big games and championships in different sports in his life to the point that nothing shakes him. He was able to engineer a victory in spite of the fact that the team continued making mistake after mistake. For a true freshman he was impressive!

On that note, it will be interesting to see how the BC QB does as compared to BW.

Put Fromm behind ND's OL that night and see if he plays "exactly the opposite" of BW. No OL. No running game. Drops. And you think BW played scared? I wonder why. Easy to be a pretend expert from the safety of your basement, isn't it?
