ND vs Navy Game Thread

No....our offense wasn't sloppy
I think it was… Riley bailed us out a bunch on third downs with scrambling

2-3 drops and way too many negative plays vs navy…

Offense wasn’t bad, but wasn’t humming either

You will never see a perfect game where there are zero mistakes. The offense was humming but still another level to get to

Good performance on offense. I don’t think it was a good performance on defense but it’s kind of hard to say since Navy was so awful on offense and special teams. Navy also missed a 40 yard field goal. I’m going to have to say that it was a below average performance on defense although it’s not easy to defend Navy. The D did some things well but they also gave up a couple huge runs. Not a terrible performance.

I think that was a massive failure by the Navy head coach when he took a knee to end the half. Not smart IMO. I really, really don’t like that.

It will be fun to see what changes ND makes against Army and how Army will attack ND. My guess is Army scores 21+ and I won’t be shocked if they hit 28-30+. Fortunately ND should score a lot on offense. It depends how long of drives Army goes on, but the offense should be efficient and score similar to how they did against Navy.

I kind of feel bad for Army. Navy got the first crack at ND and completely choked. Now ND got some much needed practice and can be better prepared for Army. Oh well. Good for ND.

Still a very solid win for ND. That’s seven in a row against Navy. Only 37 more to go until they beat the old streak.

Totally agree - there is no such thing as a "perfect game", but this offense played really well Saturday -- and there is still room for massive improvement.

"Humming..." against Navy is fine. Playing well on offense against someone in the top 5 of CFB is what the goal should be.

I watch a lot of CFB, and the Notre Dame offense, based on my observations relative to the rest of CFB, is simply alright. So-So. Not great, not bad, simply OK.

The defense on the other hand? Top tier.

I agree with the comment -- notice though, I did not say they were "humming" like the OP, but did play well and there was room for improvement. But, think of the narrative had ND struggled against Navy on offense (think back to 2022 I believe when the 2nd half was a nightmare). This board would have went ballistic. So, yea, it was good to see the success they had, but as MF said in his post game presser, they need to be greedy and strive for more.
